The 10 Best Quotes You'll Hear Today

I've said it before and I've said it again: I'm a word nerd. It's true. I love quotes, lyrics, books — you name it. I love hearing how people express emotions and experiences in their own beautiful way. Pinterest is a great tool for helping me discover new quotes, and I could honestly spend hours on there looking up the most beautiful words and feeling inspired. I compiled a few of my favorites here for y'all, so, whether you need some inspiration, some laughs or some truthful wisdom, here are the 10 best quotes you'll hear today.

P.S. I included picture versions of all of these quotes, just in case you're into that kind of thing.

1. "Be silly, be honest, be kind." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Three things I aspire to be every day.

2. "Bloom where you are planted."

My pastor used this quote in a sermon once, and it has stuck with me ever since. What a beautiful reminder to thrive, even if the situation kind of sucks.

3. "You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there will still be somebody out there who hates peaches" -Dita Von Teese

This is so important to remember, and also I really like peaches.

4. "To have found God and still pursue Him is the soul's paradox of love." - A.W. Tozer

Also, my inner basic girl loves the Starbucks in the back of this picture.

5. "With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?" -Oscar Wilde

There are so many things to be joyful about in life, and these are all some of them.

6. "I am sure that God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for him to wait." -C.S. Lewis

I'm impatient to a fault, and this is a beautiful reminder as I work to wait on the Lord.

7. "Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine admirably." -C.S. Lewis

Enough said.

8. "Be somebody who makes everyone feel like a somebody." -Kid President

Because people aren't kind enough to others, and everyone deserves to feel special.

9. "There is nothing better than giving up everything and stepping into a passionate love relationship with God, the God of the universe who made galaxies, leaves, laughter, and me and you." -Francis Chan

If you haven't read "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan yet, put that as #1 on your summer reading list.

10. And, my personal favorite, from A.W. Tozer that's kind of long to write out, so I'll just include a picture of the quote that I wrote myself.

Now, if anyone else needs me, I'll be on Pinterest looking up more wonderful quotes. And probably recipes and wedding ideas too. Sorry, my basic is showing.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
