5 Best Psych Episodes You Need To Watch

Ring the alarm bells! Fellow Psych-O's, this is your call to arms! Netflix has officially taken Psych out of their library! While this may not be as vital as, say, the presidential election, Psych has played a big role in my life. I pull a lot of my humor and personality from the antics of Shawn and Gus. For all you non-Psych-O's out there, Psych is a detective comedy centered around Shawn Spencer, a so called "Psychic Detective". Along with his childhood friend, Burton "Gus" Guster, Shawn opens up a psychic detective agency and becomes a consultant with the Santa Barbara Police Department to solve cases. Here is a look back at the show and at the top 5 episodes.

1. "Pilot", Season 1, Episode 1

While this is not the most notable episode, this deserves to be watched again. This is where everything started. Psych starts off strong by introducing all our characters and showing us some of the many quirks this show has in store.

Gus nicknames: None

2. "65 Million Years Off", Season 2, Episode 2

This episode showcases one of the best relationships in Psych: Shawn and Lassie. Lassie has been solving a lot of cases recently, and does not need Shawn's "Gift" to help him. He decides to throw Shawn a bone (pun intended) and gives him a case about a murder of which the victim was attacked by a T-Rex.

Gus Nicknames: "Gus, don’t be a giant snapping turtle."

3. "The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable", Season 3, Episode 4

In this episode, Shawn's Uncle Jack is in town, talking about Ancient Spanish Treasure. Shawn, Gus, and Uncle Jack all race to find the treasure, living up to the episode's name by going on the greatest adventure in the history of basic cable.

Gus Nicknames: Ernesto Agapito Garces con ya de Abelar; Big Baby Burton; Black Star; Homeskillet

4. "The Breakup", Season 8, Episode 10

In the final episode of Psych, Shawn decides to move to San Francisco to be with Juliet. He must find out a way to break the news to Gus, who has been his loyal companion for all his life. Watch as they solve a case of a friend betraying another best friend and how Shawn tries to rationalize his actions with Gus. This episode nicely wraps up an amazing show and is one of the greatest series finale on television.

Gus Nicknames: The magic head

5. Psych the Musical

Psych the Musical is a 2 hour long feature that includes a crazy playwright and an old villain. This is a Broadway hit musical, Psych style. Watch as the whole cast sings and dances their hearts away, and don't forget about Jamaican Inspector Man!

Gus Nicknames: Lil Wayne, King Mongkut, Gigi Van Tran

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
