Ahh, skincare. Something that a lot of people forget about, other people rave about and some don't even care about. I, for one, can't get enough of it. I'm always trying new cleansers and toners.

One of the main downfalls of good skincare is that it can get expensive. Don't get me wrong, I'm always shopping the drug store for a good deal, but it seems like the good stuff always comes from the high-end section of the store. Skincare that costs a fortune isn't always the first to catch my eye as not everyone has the means to spend a pretty penny on some soap, which I totally understand and can relate to. But sometimes, splurging is necessary.

One of the best instances to splurge is when you've got a few gift cards for your favorite store saved up. This trick is exactly how I got my hands on the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari BabyfacialTM. Making the “Allure Best of Beauty" list in 2017, this 50 ML facemask is quite the magic worker. This product retails at a hefty $80.00 and Sephora reviews give it 4.5 stars. It is often paired with the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, because they are technically made to be used hand in hand, but not completely necessary.

The Sukari Babyfacial is made for all skin types to improve dull or textured skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin tones. The product contains 25% AHA and 2% BHA as well as the staple Drunk Elephant ingredients such as glycolic, lactic, citric and salicylic acids. Drunk Elephant is known for avoiding “filler products" such as fragrances and other acids to create a more abundant amount of product.

For you science folks, Babyfacial has a pH level of 3.5, allowing for people with sensitive skin to effectively use the product without it burning or irritating their skin. I don't have sensitive skin, but did notice a slight tingling sensation in places where I had recently extracted a pimple. It was nothing overbearing, but definitely noticeable.

You are advised to use the product once to twice a week by applying a thin layer on the skin and leaving it on for 20-30 minutes.

In my opinion, it doesn't have a smell, unlike what others said when I was doing my own research on the product. After 20 minutes with the product, I washed it off and immediately noticed that my skin was smooth. I applied the oil afterward and went to bed. When I woke up, it was obvious that some of my problem areas had improved. Honestly, I wasn't originally going to give in and purchase this product just because of the hype. But after hearing such good things about it and how it specifically targets the problems I have with my skin, I had to try it. The before and after differences were noticeable: my skin is less red and definitely less textured after using the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial. I'm more than impressed with what a cute little bottle of product could do to my skin.

Thank you, Drunk Elephant!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
