Best Places To Eat In Tallahassee Based On Your Mood

For those who can never decide.

Have you ever been discussing with someone on where to eat and you just don’t know what you’re in the mood for? Sometimes, you could go all out on sushi, but sometimes that’s the last thing you want. Sometimes you are starving and need a lot of food, and sometimes you just want a light meal (even though that isn’t a real thing for me). I’m here to save you the “I don’t know, what do you want to eat?” conversation and just tell you where you should eat depending on how you feel.

Let’s say you’re feeling productive; you have a long day ahead of you and you need to fuel yourself. You need energy along with a full stomach for your whole day – Zoes. I would personally suggest the Tossed Greek Salad, because it has chicken as well as veggies, cheese, and spinach. Overall, Zoes has good, semi-healthy food to fuel yourself without making you feel bad about it. Plus, the salad is huge and you can make it last for two meals.

Let’s say you’re about to go out. You know you need a huge meal with a lot of carbs and grease so, you know, you don’t become the drunkest girl at the bar. Now, there are a few choices for this one. You could go for Blaze, an entire pizza to yourself. Which means you accomplish two birds with one stone – a nice hearty meal before you go out, and half a pizza for when you get back. There’s also a bunch of options for burgers, i.e., Grub, Monks, Smashburger, Primetime, you name it. Burgers are always a good option, and I’d always check out Primetime’s “burger special."

Let’s say you just woke up, have no breakfast food, and are trying to decide where to eat for breakfast. First, I must ask, what time is it? Because seriously, if it's before 10:30 a.m. and you’re even contemplating this, we are not friends and you are brainless. Hello, Chick-fil-A! However, if you are a late sleeper, I have to suggest Merv’s if you really want to ball out and have a gallant breakfast. But then, there’s also my least favorite, Bagel Bagel. No matter how much I hate it, they still have huge breakfast portions with lots, and lots, and lots of grease. Which is definitely good on the weekend.

Let’s say it's girls’ night and you all want to talk, hang, eat amazing food, and most importantly, drink lots of wine. Siam Sushi. Without a doubt. Their sushi never disappoints and they have a wine special where it's BOGO from 5-7 and their house cab is $6. Which means you get two glasses for $3, so you might as well get four glasses, amirite? Also, try the spring rolls!

Let's say it's date night. Before you even start the conversation that we all have, Melting Pot. On a Tuesday. Because its $6 fondue and $6 cheese per person on Tuesdays. I'm a little confused as to why I have never gone. Next week it is!!

Let’s say you’re feeling sad, had an awful day and you just want some comfort. I’ll give you two options, a cheap one and an expensive one. First, cheap. Spear It. They serve a literal stack of fried macaroni and cheese sticks. Okay, if that doesn’t scream comfort food, I don’t know what does. They also have a huge platter of chicken fingers and French fries, every college students' dream. Comfort restored. However, there is also Bella Bella, and if you haven’t been, I suggest you go, you know, when your parents come to town maybe. Their chicken parmesan is so amazing it changes lives. And their fettuccini alfredo. And everything on the menu, especially the bruschetta. Food coma, here I come!

Last but not least, and arguably most important, let's say you're hangry. You need to eat and you need to eat NOW. You are in no mood for discussing anything and if you don't have food fast someone is going to suffer. Fast food. Yeah, gross, but important. And there are so many places you can get fast food that aren't McDonald's. Healthy: Muscle Maker. Fast, easy, and arguably healthy. Vale, okay, let's be serious, it's so good and probably the fastest good healthy food you can get. Not healthy: Chick-fil-A, always an option. Momo's pizza, huge slice for so cheap and quick. Wendy's, grilled chicken snack wrap with ranch--my favorite.

Whatever the mood is, I think I have solidly covered most of them so that you never have to worry or think about where to eat. As long as you know what your mood is, and for us girls, that's a whole other article.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
