The Best Personality Test

Your true self will most likely come out in times of emergency.

One night, about two weeks ago, I was peacefully sleeping in my dorm room the night before my biology lab midterm. There I was, happily sleeping, getting rested up so I could face the day. At approximately 3:30 A.M. I was awoken by a voice I can only describe as a close relative to 1984' s Big Brother character. The booming voice came over out intercom in my dormitory stating, "Attention, this is an emergency. Do not use the elevator. Find the nearest stairwell and evacuate the building." Interestingly enough, in that moment, the three different personality types of my suitemates and I were revealed.

1. The Always Prepared

As I swung open the door to check on my suitemates, I was greeted by my suitemate Sammie calmly stating, "We're ok. Everyone grab your keys and your ID." Luckily, we had Sammie to remind us of everything we needed. We had no idea how long we would be outside and our wallets and keys could have been desperately needed.

2. The Mama Bird

Immediately upon hearing the alarm, I jumped out of bed and swung open the door to the bathroom connecting our room with our suitemates. My first response was to ensure all my friends were alright and to make sure we were all together even though I was half asleep.

3. The Dreamer

While Sammie and I were trying to usher everyone out the door, my roommate, Madie, and suitemate Amanda groggily put on their shoes, completely unaware of the fact this wasn't actually a dream. When I first popped out of bed, my roommate stared at me for a few seconds, not sure whether or not she was awake. If it were up to these two we probably would have stayed in the room and gone back to sleep (which I would not have minded).

If you're wondering, no we still have no idea why we were evacuated but we do each know an important quality in ourselves. If you're ever wondering what personality qualities you possess, odds are a few minutes in an insanely stressful situation might reveal something to you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
