Being the youngest of five has changed my life in the best way imaginable. I wouldn’t trade my family for the world. Being in such a large family definitely has some disadvantages, like always having to speak up or sometimes fighting for the last piece of cake, but the negatives make you stronger. And the pros out weight the cons.

1. The laughter

Constantly always having something to laugh about. Your siblings will always be able to make you laugh even when you’re feeling down.

2. There’s always someone there to help

To help with homework, tough decisions, and to talk to when upset.

3. You already have an entire team

In sports, you have a large enough family to create the entire team. That also goes for your family being an entire party itself.

4. Everyone “knows” who you are

Because as soon as they see your last name they say, “Oh, you are a ____ kid.” Just hope they know your good sibling and not the one who always got in trouble.

5. A lot of people will have your back

They will support you through your entire life.

6. Learning things

Patience, sharing, how to stand out, friendships, sports, life tips, and love.

7. The memories

The endless stories to share about your crazy family. And the endless “Remember when…” stories to retell with your family.

8. Getting different styles

Different taste in music, books, movies, and especially clothes, because of all the hand me downs.

9. Growing up tough

Constantly being picked on by siblings toughens you up quick, but also no one else can tease you because your siblings wont allow it.

10. There’s always someone to bring you toilet paper

When that roll is empty and you need someone to grab you a new one, someone is always there.

11. Having someone to look up too

Watching them grown up and be great, you hope to be as good, as kind, and as fun as them. You already have great role models.

12. Always a babysitter, or always a playmate

Your parents don’t have to pay a babysitter; the older ones watch the youngest ones for free. You also always have a playmate because of this.

13. Partners in crime

When you have an evil plan up your sleeve, there is always someone there to help you succeed. There is also some one to help you explain it to your parents.

14. Sharing Chores

Cleaning the house doesn’t going to take as much time because there are more people to help out.

15. When everyone gets together, it is undeniably the best moments of your life.

I cannot wait to watch my family grow. Watch my siblings have kids and watching the kids spend time together. I cannot wait to be old and still having family dinners laughing about old stories with each other. Being in a large family has definitely helped define who I am. I have more than four siblings; I have four best friends who will always be there.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
