Ranking The TV Shows I've Watched Over Break

In This Article:

When I finished my last final, the first thing I did was take a nap but the second thing I did was grab my laptop and open Netflix. Netflix has been a bigger part of my break than I would like to admit and besides Tik Tok has been my main source of entertainment. I have been practicing social distancing and besides working have spent a lot of time at home which gave me some time to catch up on my Netflix recommendations. After a lot of thinking and careful consideration, I have ranked the shows I have watched on Netflix over the break and they are as follows.

Schitt's Creek

I'm going to be honest, I have tried watching this show before and have never gotten into it but after trying it again this break, I can say that I am a huge fan. This show follows a wealthy family who suddenly lose everything and are forced to move to a small town called Schitt's Creek. It is a show that only gets better over time and while I haven't finished it yet, I can't wait to see how it ends. If you are someone who enjoys comedies, you have to try this show.

Big Mouth

This is a show I have been watching for about a year and a half and over the break I finally got around to watching season 4. Big Mouth is an animated show on Netflix that follows young teenagers and their journey with puberty through the use of hormone monsters. While I enjoyed this season and found it to be funny, it definitely wasn't my favorite. If you are looking for a show that doesn't require much effort to watch, I would suggest this one.

New Girl

The only reason that I ranked this last is because I have seen this show so many times. New Girl follows Jess as she moves into a loft with three random guy roommates she met off of Craigslist and the shenanigans ensue. I would probably consider this my comfort show so it's natural that given everything that is going on in the world right now that I would turn to this.

There you have it, the shows I watched over the break. I hope everyone has a great rest of their break and start to the second semester!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
