2017 was a crazy year, but I still made time for the important things, including Netflix. Here are some of my favorite shows I binge-watched this past year to help you forget about the ridiculous reality of the world.
1. The Office
I binge-watched The Office way too quickly right as 2017 started. It’s a hilarious show to begin with, but being from Scranton made it that much better for me. The Scranton references were too accurate and the show made me love my home that much more.
2. Parks and Recreation
I started Parks and Rec immediately after finishing The Office which made me hate Ann Parkins at first. I learned that I am Leslie Knope and that Li’l Sebastian is my spirit animal. I watched this series over a span of seven months which me cry ten times more during the final episode.
3. Riverdale
I love Cole Sprouse, so I thought I’d give this one a try. This one kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole first season. I haven’t kept up with season two, but that’s what I plan on doing in the beginning of 2018.
4. Stranger Things
I was skeptical of Stranger Things at first as this genre usually doesn’t entertain me. I figured I would try it to keep up with the hype and then decide I didn’t like it. I was wrong, this show is great. Mike and Eleven are the power couple of the world and I am hooked.
5. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
I finally caved after listening to my friends talk about references from this show all the time. It’s offensive but hilarious. You have to step out of your boundary and not let anything offend you, then it’s great.
6. How I Met Your Mother
Netflix removed this for some reason, but the two seasons I got to watch before it was removed were the best. I love Ted and can relate to him a lot. I also want a relationship like Marshall and Lilly. They’re great.
