Personally I love movies that I can actually relate to, so I am not big into fantasy movies or cartoon type movies. These five movies that I have chosen, pretty much anybody can relate to at least one of them if not all of them. They are all a little old, but they are truly classics. Whether you like a good romance movie or a good comedy here are my top five must-watch movies that will give you both:
1. "The Breakfast Club"
The movie may be 38 years old but it is a true classic must-watch. You get everything in it with romance and some comedy here and there. Also it is a high school setting, and most of us have went or will go to high school, so anyone can relate to it.
Especially because it is about five high school students from all different backgrounds who get stuck in a day of detention together. Whether you were the jock, the quiet one, the privileged popular girl, the brainy guy or the rebel guy there is some character you can relate to in this movie.
2. "10 Things I Hate About You"
While not being quite as old as "The Breakfast Club," the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" is yet another classic, at least in my book. Again just about anyone can relate to this movie. I mean who has not had a Bianca Stratford moment willing to do just about anything to fit in?
Also, the movie teaches some great life lessons such as dating the most popular guy in school really is not everything.
3. "Say Anything"
This romance movie is yet another one of my favorite must-watch movies. The boy who is in love with a girl who does not even know he exists, who has not related to this? Anyways no spoilers but her rich dad who tried very hard could not keep her away from said boy.
4. "Can't Buy Me Love"
The movie has McDreamy aka Derrick Shepherd aka Patrick Dempsey aka in this movie Ronald (Donald) Miller and who would not want to watch a movie with Patrick Dempsey in it even if he is a little dorky?? Plus it is a classic love story that just about everyone loves and also just about anyone could relate to some character in the movie.
5. "St. Elmo's Fire"
Save the best for last right? This one is my personal favorite and while I and many others may not fully relate to it yet it gives people something to look forward to. The movie is about a group of college students who have just graduated and are now out living in the real world. I know scary, but after watching the movie I hope to find my group of people like the group in St. Elmo's Fire while I am in college.
While these movies may not be the newest out of the box office they are true classics and I recommend that everyone watch these top five must-watch movies.
