1. Bag
Seems like a simple word, but to outsiders it sounds like a Minnesotan is saying Beg or bayyyyyyyggggggg.
2. Roof
You know the sound a dog makes? Yes. That is how we pronounce it.
3. Hot dish
No, I do not mean a dish that is hot. As southerners call it-- casserole.
4. Holy Buckets
No buckets aren't holy or hole-y. It's a very common expression in the lands of Minnesota.
5. Milk
I can't say if I am the only Minnesotan to say this, but milk is definitely pronounced as melk in my world.
6. Wagon
My friends get a kick out of this one. Pronounced as such-- waggin or weghon.
7. Dragon
No, I am not dragging something. I am talking about an animal that breathes fire.
8. Pop
If you lived in Minnesota in the dead of winter and left some of this beverage in the car you would call it pop as well.
9. Oregon
You naming a shape? Ori-Gone.
10. Duck Duck Grey Duck
Yes, apparently only Minnesotan's say this crazy one.
Let's be honest though any word with -ag in it will sound weird to non-Minnesotan's. Next time you meet a Minnesotan ask them to say these words for a good laugh.
