5 Games That Have Us Wrapped Around Their (Virtual) Finger
Our world has been shaken upside down by some pretty hypnotizing events in the past few years. Games. All over the world, people are downloading the newest phone application and mass playing it until the next big thing comes along... Can you count how many class assignments you've copied due to these games taking over all of your time? Let's take a look at some of these items, shall we?
1. Angry Birds
The addiction started here. Early 2009, the youngest iPhone available, gave me the opportunity of playing this first game that took the world captive. This GIF happens to describe every feeling we felt when the game gave us the smallest birds available to knock down the largest of empires. I'm not the only one who sat with steam strolling out of their ears, right?
2. Temple Run
2011 brought along yet another game. With the ability to sit for hours on end, you'd think we were up to some really important email business! Nope. Just playing Temple Run! Who else had wished that Usain Bolt's real speed had been incorporated into this game? I'd much rather have all of his speed and rack up points all at once rather than staying up till 3 am with one of those slow characters, trying to beat a friend's score!
3. Candy Crush
This game became so addicting, even animals were caught playing! With the ability to move cute little jellies, play around obstacles, and beat timers, this game had not only humans, but cats playing also! This can't end well!
4.Flappy Bird
2013 was tough... How many times did you hear "Pay attention, I'm only teaching this once," "Get off your phone and clean your room," or walk into class unprepared for a test? I think we can all say, this one took over our entire lives. We went through all that and the app got deleted!!! It did teach us one thing though; How to diagnose others via Google! What does it mean when someone clenches their fists and randomly throws their phone? It might mean you've been playing flappy bird for hours on end and the anger issues your family inherited are finally showing in you as well, you can sign up for a free anger management class here!
5. Pokemon Go
Recently, in 2016, this one got out of hand. This lead to new hangouts where you met tons of new people playing the same game as well as strangers telling you where they caught rare Pokemon. This also led to kidnappings and even death! After one man roamed all of earth and "Caught em' all," the game has finally died down and we can now walk safely with our heads up again. Let's not point our phones towards strangers to catch that common Rattata and let's go back to our lives, people!
