Unless you're the type that can get in a van and just drive, traveling often involves a lot of planning and preparation. For some, it's easiest to hire a travel agent that seemingly knows all of the best deals and places to visit, but in reality that can get expensive.

If you're traveling on a budget or looking to visit some of the less known attractions in a city, the internet is the best place to start. Once you have an idea of what you want to do and when you can go, I recommend starting a Google Doc or Pinterest board to keep your thoughts together.

In the end, the stresses of planning your travels should be minimal. Luckily, there are several aids to help the planning process both before and during your trip occur with ease. Keep things simple with these 11 smartphone apps.

1. Skyscanner

Skyscanner is the perfect app to have on your phone for when you have dates to travel, but aren't sure where to go. Their "everywhere" option allows you to choose your starting location and the dates you're available to travel before providing you with a list of places you can go from cheapest, to most expensive flights. The app also provides you with hotel and car rental options for when you arrive at your destination.

4. Hostelworld

In the United States, hostels have a reputation attributive to horror movies and horror stories. In the rest of the world, hostels are a safe, cheap alternative to hotel and Airbnb expenses. If you're traveling in a group, you can often purchase a room with bunk beds together, or if you're concerned about sharing space with the opposite gender there are almost always options for gender exclusive dorms. Hostelworld is a useful app as it breaks down each hostel listed by safety, security, price and distance to popular attractions.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
