We all create a personal brand or image for ourselves when posting online. We might not realize it but our online media accounts share much information about who we are and are checked so often. In this post, I wanted to share a few tips on apps that I use to capture my best self. We aren't perfect humans and there is no need to pretend, however, there is an importance of putting your best foot forward. Being conscious of how you are representing yourself online is a great start.
Here are my top three editing apps (for a smartphone) and why:
VSCO
I love this app because you have the ability to enhance your picture in so many ways. There are lots of filters and adjustments you can create on this platform. Some of these would include contrast, brightness, highlight, exposure, clarity, skin tone, saturation, the white balance… The list goes on. It may take a little bit of time to get used to as a new user but as you play around with it you will get the hang of it and; you will come to appreciate all the features it has. Something else that is unique about this app is people don't only use it is as an editing platform, but all your work can be posted to the Community of VSCO users. It is similar to Instagram. You can follow, like, and repost images here too. It can be used as a social site as well as a workspace for creativity and editing.
AirBrush
This is a great app if you have a quick facial fix to make. I use it to edit out pimples, dark circles, and to smooth areas on pictures. Just like the prior app, it has any other features to learn and utilize. This app is very simple and easy to work with. I also like that there is a button in the bottom right-hand corner that will show you the before and after effects of what your picture looks like. All you have to do is simply hold your finger over it.
Pic Collage
This is the last app I wanted to mention. It is fabulous for creating collages. It's nice because if you use the freestyle background you start with a blank white canvas to add all your pictures too. In this setting, you can be as creative as you want. You choose what pictures you add, you choose the background, the template, if you want text, if you want to cut any of the images, the size of your work. Similar to the other two apps I mentioned I also appreciate this one too, for the amount of flexibility it allows. You really get to bring your work to life how you want to. Although, if you aren't feeling as creative it also has custom templates for you to use. All you have to do is select your pictures, it is as easy as that.
If you are like me and love editing ( I find it relaxing), creating, and taking pictures I hope I was able to introduce you to a few new apps. These apps are all great and you will find they all have very different functions and purposes from each other.
