Best Holiday Songs To Play On Repeat

Thanksgiving came, conquered, and now it’s officially Christmas season. This means one thing: its time to crank up the Christmas songs.

Although, if I’m being honest, I started having Christmas song jam sessions when November came around.

Now, I know what some people may be thinking.

Some may agree and say that the holiday season started when Starbucks started using their red cups, and others may argue that the holiday season didn’t start until the leftover turkey was finished.

In all honesty, it doesn’t really matter what anyone says, because the holiday season can start whenever you want it to. Christmas songs rock and no one should judge you about it because what are they, a Grinch?

So whether you never stopped listening to these rad Christmas tunes, or if you’re just about to bring out your favorite Christmas cookie recipe, here are some of the best holiday songs you’ll want to listen to as you prepare for the chilly December weather – mistletoe not included.

Feliz Navidad (Michael Buble ft. Thalia)

First of all, if you haven’t listened to Michael Buble’s Christmas album, please stop what you’re doing and go listen to it right now. This song is one of my favorites from his album, but truthfully they’re all pretty amazing.

Christmas Time (Christina Aguilera)

If you thought it wasn’t possible for a Christmas song to bring out the sassy side of you, you thought wrong. This one will surely make you want to dance.

Jingle Bell Rock (cover by the cast of Glee)

This song is a classic, and although I know that many of us automatically think of that scene from Mean Girls, it is still a favorite, especially this cover.

All I Want For Christmas Is You (Mariah Carey)

This song is automatically good because Mariah sings it and who doesn’t love Mariah? Although it’s an older tune, this cover has become a Christmas playlist staple in its own.

Warning: This song will make you want to wear a lot of red and text your crush.

Santa Baby (Colbie Caillat)

This song has just enough soul, just enough sass, and just enough holiday – it’s a triple win. Plus it’s Colbie Caillat so it’s already winning.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (Jessica Simpson)

This song is on every Christmas song playlist ever created, but I like this specific cover because it’s incredibly catchy and never fails to make me want to get up and dance…and twirl…and dance some more.

Last Christmas (Ariana Grande)

Okay, I know this song is actually pretty sad when it comes to the lyrics, but that’s why I like this cover. It has a jolly feel with a happy beat.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow (Michael Buble)

This song is the best because Michael Buble, enough said.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (Ella Fitzgerald)

When sung with the well-known interjections, this song quickly becomes a (sleigh) ride down memory lane to those elementary school days.

Sleigh Ride (Ashanti)

Have you done your Christmas shopping? Good, because this is the perfect sing-while-wrapping-presents type of song. There’s just something about the flair of this cover.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
