I don't know what it is about the holiday season but I always want to plan elaborate dates with a central holiday theme. My boyfriend is already annoyed by how much I have discussed the holiday season and how much I have planned for us to do over winter break. These aren't romantically exclusive so grab your significant other or a group of friends and be prepared to be in the holiday spirit!
Drive around and look at lights
Get in your car, blast some Christmas tunes! A lot of towns have neighborhoods that are dedicated light shows, find one! This a cute, free (excluding gas, sorry) way to spend time with those you love and get to feeling festive!
Bake cookies
I am always in charge of cookie making and I have a super specific process when it comes to cookies. For other more sane people, make a ton of batches of cookies while a Christmas movie or some music is playing in the background. They also make some good gifts, so its a win-win!
Holiday Movie Marathon
Fuzzy blankets, hot chocolate, Frosty the Snowman playing on the tv.... need I say more?
Gift Shopping
Another dual purpose date idea. Get your shopping done and hang out with your boo/pals!
Ice Skating
This one is for the more coordinated of people. Bundle up and wobble around on the ice for a few hours. Most rinks have hot chocolate or some other drinks and snacks so if you start to get tired you can take it easy.
Decorate
I have already had my tree up for about two weeks now, but decorating a tree and your living space with holiday decorations will make you feel more at home and will let you spend some bonding time with your SO.
Volunteer
Tis the season of giving! We love good philanthropic festive date!
Ugly Sweater Thrift Shopping
I am obsessed with ugly holiday sweaters, is that just me?
Attend a holiday event
Party, get together, kickback, whatever you want to do! Holiday functions are so much fun so drag him/her along!
Take holiday pictures together
Maybe even make a holiday card!
