Many say you will met your forever friends in college, and now I completely agree.
Though I do still have long friendships from high school, being in college has given me more friends than I would ever have thought was possible. There are many things these girls have taught me.
1. It's always better to laugh than to judge
Whether they something so random you worry about their sanity or just sends you a snapchat expressing their hatred for someone it should put them in a mental institution.
2. It's ok if you don't know your next step
If you don't have a clue on what you're going to do next, best bet is that they don't either. You will always have someone to take all your steps with.
3. Never doubt that you are anything less than amazing
The squad will always love the person you are and will fight for you if you are thinking or talked about anything less than amazing.
4. They make the best memories
Whether it's the car jam sessions or the library study sessions of doing nothing; they will be there for them all.
5. You will LOSE money
Going out to eat because there is nothing in the apartment and we all are too lazy to cook or just want to have a fancy meal with your girls; you are bound to throw down some major bucks.
6. You won't have to hide your true self
More than likely they have seen all sides of your personality and wonder some days why you are friends but then realize they are the same way.
7. The group will always be loud
At weddings, graduations, daily tasks, car jams, or just hanging out in the apartment watching Grey's Anatomy; you and your girls will always be loud.
8. Your background won't matter to them
From different schools, living on a farm, having different majors; any of your backgrounds won't matter as long as they love you.
9. They will always be there for you
From dumb boys, hard teachers, mad bosses, or the random roommate isn't picking up; your girls will be there through it all.
10. Your parents will treat them like their own daughters
Either the sleepovers or just going to lunch with all of you and your squad, your family will treat them just like they do you.
11. Vent sessions become a weekly task
Usually the vent sessions call for wine, bad music, terrible hair, and jumping/screaming; they will listen through it all.
12. They will be your biggest supporters
From getting the big girl job or to finally getting that cute boy to ask you out, the squad will always support you.
As you grow up the girls that stayed with you through all of your good, bad, weird, and unknown stages in life will be there forever. I am so grateful to the friends I meet at school who became my sisters in such a short period of time.
