They are always there and I can always count on them.

My Best Friends Who Are My Family

I have a small circle of people I can call friends, and an even smaller circle of best friends. I call the smallest circle family, because they see the part of me that nobody except family can see. They continuously show up whenever I need them no matter the time, no matter the decisions I make, and that is friendship. These are some things that make them better than my small circle of friends.

1. They always tease me

It isn't bullying when they tease me; it's harmless and we all can go back and forth and tease each other. It is everything I have ever wanted in a friendship.

2. We can have serious conversations

Even though most of the time we joke and laugh, we do have serious conversations and a lot of them are about the future. Everyone has to be a little afraid of what the future is going to hold, but as long as you guys are by my side I don't think I will have to be afraid.

3. We take adventures

We are small-town kids who don't like to sit still for very long, which is not a good combination. We have found ourselves planning trips over two hours away that day and actually going through with it. I can't wait to see what crazy adventures await us these next few years and even after.

4. We are persistent

If one of us doesn't want to go out odds are we are trying to convince them until we are far enough we can't turn back. We all just love being together and that is something that very few people can say.

5. They are the most caring people I have ever met

No matter what, they are there. Recently, I got my wisdom teeth out and everyone should take time to remember all of the swollen face videos that happen when someone gets their wisdom teeth out; my friend came over with cold food and sat and watched Netflix until I felt better. Does it get any better than that?

No, it doesn't. We will help each other move in soon and we will all visit each other because that is what we do. I wouldn't trade my friends for anything.

I lava you guys!

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
