Summer is filled with fun times with friends and family and as summer comes to an end I have realized how much my best friend and I think alike. The common text messages and conversations I have had with her end up incorporating at least one of these lines and I am sure you can all relate to these comments as well!

1. Are you really going out wearing that?

Giphy

"I know we are just running to get ice cream but, can't I just wear leggings or sweatpants?"

No, you're going to run into people are will hate yourself for not looking like a civilized human being.

2. You need to calm down

Giphy

Okay, we need to take things down a notch... I will never tell you to "chill" but there are times when we are over exaggerating or being too dramatic and we need to collect ourselves.

3. He/She is not worth your time

Giphy

Do not send that text. Do not like that photo. I promise you will not get any satisfaction out of it. No one is worth your time if they do not put in the equal amount of effort and time you do.

4. You sound like my mom

Giphy

Sure we are getting older and starting to sound more and more like our parents but did our parents used to think the same thing about them and their friends too?

5. Open your door I'm outside

Giphy

Don't you just love when they show up unexpected? Living within 10-15 minutes of your best friend has its advantages (company 24/7) and disadvantages (showing up ALL THE TIME).

Just kidding I actually love it :)

6. Let's go get food

Giphy

Well, where are we eating? What kind of food do we want? There are the same five restaurants in this area and we are sick of all of them.

7. What do you want to do tonight?

Giphy

Lay in bed and watch movies? Go out to dinner? Go to a party? So many decisions!

8. Take a selfie with me!

Giphy

"I haven't posted something on my snapchat in a while please just pick a filter and take a selfie with me!"

9. Why can't I just sleep all day?

Giphy

"I'm so lazy"

*5 minutes later*

"Can we please go do something?"

*Takes a nap at each other's houses*

10. Are you going to eat that? Because if not I will

Giphy

If you aren't going to finish that pizza I will gladly take that off your hands.

11. Yeah we're going to fight... deal with it

Giphy

We both may not always be right but we can argue for hours or just go laugh it off over ice cream.

12. What do you think about *insert crush's name*?

Giphy

"Eh, they are alright, but you definitely could do better."

*Insert any version of "please don't get into a relationship and forget about me" line here*

13. Fine, I'll come workout with you just this one time

Giphy

Yeah sure let's go!

*10 minutes into class*

"Arms are sore already help"

*post workout class*

"Time to eat all healthy, whoo!!!"

14. You are my partner in crime

Giphy

You are my right hand and I tell you everything whether you find it boring or interesting I just need you there to listen.

15. "FaceTime me" *FaceTimes each other but are both on pause*

Giphy

It doesn't even matter how far away we are from each other when we are both away at school. FaceTime means we are talking and goofing around no matter if we are on pause or just sitting on the floor of our closets.

Thank you for being my person and always having my back. Thank you for helping me see right from wrong.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
