A Letter To My Best Friends Near And Far

Thank you for always being here for me.

A Letter To My Best Friends Near And Far
Letitia Hatch

I don't say this enough and I'm sorry that I don't. I want you to know that you have changed my life. You have made me into who I am today. You have been by my side through thick and thin. You have seen me cry. You have seen me laugh. You have seen me struggle, you have seen me soar.

You have impacted my life so much. From late night adventures, to hiking to waterfalls. From going camping to going shopping. You never failed to be my adventure buddy. You were always ready to go, never really stopped to question what we should do. We just went with the flow. We did what we wanted to do and we lived life with no regrets. We were carefree and young.

We were always inseparable. We would call and talk to each other or text each other almost every single day. We would never miss an important moment in that other persons life. Then college came and we drifted away from each other but I knew you would always still be by my side. No matter what happened because you were my best friend, and you still are to this very day. I couldn't imagine my life without you. Thankfully I haven't had to experience my life without you by my side giving me guidance and your love.

Sometimes I think back to the good times and start to really miss you. I wonder how you are doing. I wonder if you miss me. But I know the next time I see you, or the next time we talk, we will just pick up where we left off. It will be like no time has passed. We will just be right back to where we've always been. Best friends.

Sure we have had our ups and downs and sometimes we would fight. But that's what friends do. That's what happens when you love someone so much. You just want what is best for them. You want to see them achieve their dreams. You want to see them find love and happiness. You want to see them happy. You only want what is best for them. So sometimes it leads to fights and disagreements but the love never stops. You will always be there for them. I will always be there for you. Through every one of you heartaches, through every one of your tears, through every one of your doubts. Through every thing that happens, good or bad I will be there for you. That is my promise.

Thank you for everything you do for me. Thank you for all the times you have been there for me, thank you for all the future times you will be there for me. I promise you that no matter what happens in life, no matter how far the distance, I will ALWAYS be here for you. I will always be your cheerleader. I will always be rooting you on. I will always be your shoulder to cry on. I will always be your best friend and I will always love you. No matter the time or distance. I will always be there for you. I promise.

This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
