10 things to say to your best friends
Zachary Cotter

1. Thank you for putting up with me.

I am a lot to handle, and I know that, but for some odd reason, you still stick by my side for the crazy ride.

2. You are my family.

If we are being honest, you probably know more about me than my actual family does!

3. Thank you for being my free therapist.

From the lunch table rant sessions to the 3 a.m. facetime calls, you are always there with open ears and helpful advice.

4. You will always have me as back-up.

Whether it's a date gone wrong and you just need an out or your feuding with a friend.

5. Lunches (and time in general) with you mean the world to me.

Having friends that go to different schools can be difficult, heck! even having friends that go to your school, it can be difficult to have meaningful conversations with them, but it makes it worthwhile when we have a few hours together and just talking about life.

6. We have a connection like no other.

It's not every day that you meet someone you could talk to for hours on end, or have conversations with by simply looking in a direction and making a face (which comes in handy when seated across the room from each other in class).

7. Thank you for being honest with me, even when I don't want to hear it.

Sometimes I just do stupid things, or I just have no fashion sense and cant pick out an outfit, but no matter how small the issue, you are always honest and helping me become a better person.

8. Remember, even when I'm not there, I'm always in your head.

Use me as your guide to life, the angel sitting on your left shoulder (over your heart), and the devil on your right (for when hard decisions need to be made).

9. Thank you for sticking around.

We've all had our fair share of fights and I'll be honest, I start some of them, but you've never left my side.

10. I am going to miss you.

Each time we leave each other it's like opening an old wound. Know, pieces of my soul stays with you because it can only be complete with my better parts by my side.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
