They say three's a crowd, but I beg to differ.

A best friend is a person who makes you smile, laugh, and all the other happy things. A best friend is a person who will accept you and all the delightful weirdness that comes along with you. A best friend is a person who will be equally as weird with you. They will laugh with you, cry with you, dance with you, stay up late with you, eat with you. They make your life better just by being there.

I was lucky enough to find all of this and more in not only one, but two people. They are my dearest friends and they are the best people in the world. The three of us were always connected at the hip and now, as we start to discover our own paths, our bond is stronger than ever despite the 300 miles between us.

Having two best friends has blessed me in so many wonderful ways, so, here are my 6 reasons why two is better than one when it comes to best friends.

1. Three is the strongest number.

This is a literal fact. Think about it. Triangles are used in construction a lot because the fixed angles keep the shape from distorting and allow force to be distributed evenly throughout the structure. There are also tripods and tricycles, both of which are very sturdy and hard to knock down. Needless to say, a bond of three is the hardest to break.

2. Three is big enough to have a party, and small enough to all fit in the same bed.

My friends and I have been sharing a bed at sleepovers since we were much smaller human beings. We would stay up super late and tire our tiny selves out and then crash. We have yet to outgrow that routine.

3. There is always someone to take pictures.

This is one of the more trivial joys of being in a three-person friend group, but still equally as enjoyable.

4. You can get multiple opinions from reliable sources.

Whether it's shopping or deciding if I should get a tattoo, my girls are always there to give me their valued input.

5. Planning surprises is so much more fun.

One of my favorite things is surprising my friends. Even if it's something small that will make their day a little better. Having someone to plan it out with just makes it a little more special.

6. You truly bring out the best in each other.

I would not be half the person I am today without my friends. We're so different, yet so similar. We watched each other grow up and loved each other just the same through all the changes we have faced. We balance each other out in the most perfect ways, and when one is in need, the other two will rebuild the ground beneath their feet.

My best friends are my favorite people in the world, and I am so lucky that I found such love within two people. Two is strong. Three is unbreakable.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
