Dear best friend, I wanted to take the time to show you just how much you mean to me.

When I first met you, I had heard many things around school and didn’t know exactly what to think. I heard that you were very rude and self centered, but then I got to know you. I got to know the beautiful, caring side of you. I grew to love you more and more with every day that passed, and a life without you seems impossible now. Through the short time of us knowing each other, we have shared many laughs, smiles, tears, hugs, and many amazing memories, along with more to come. So, I am writing this letter to you to thank you for all you’ve done for me and to show my appreciation.

Thank you for the late night video chats. Thank you for making countless trips to my house when I was crying because you couldn’t bare to see me as sad as I had been. Thank you for keeping all of the secrets I’ve shared with you. Thank you for being there for me when nobody else was. Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for pushing me to do better things in life and make smarter choices. Thank you for showing me the good in people. And lastly, thank you for being such an amazing best friend.

You have always been there for me, whether I’d be crying over a boy or some cat video. You were there when everybody went against me and wouldn’t talk to me. You were there whenever things got rough. You were there when I didn’t want to live anymore. You were there through everything, and if it wasn’t for you, I’d still be a complete and utter mess.

I am so thankful for all the memories we’ve shared, from sneaking out to go get Taco Bell, to getting kicked out of Walmart. I am thankful for the nights where we would sit there and stuff our faces with junk food and share our life stories. I am thankful for the thousands of funny snapchat’s we’ve sent back and forth. I am thankful for all the “photo shoots” where we take a thousand selfies before taking the right one to post. I am thankful to have shared some of my best memories with the bestest friend.

You are such a beautiful human being and I love everything about you. I love how your nose crinkles when you laugh, or how you always stick your tongue out when people take pictures with you. How you have no problem standing up for what you believe in, and being able to tell people right from wrong without any hesitation. I love how you believe in yourself, and believe in others as well. I love how you never fail to make people laugh or smile. Lastly, I love you, and everything you were, are, and will be.

So I thank you again for listening to me rant about boys, letting me blast my crappy music, and dealing with my random outbursts. Thank you for supporting me no matter what decision I make, and thank you for introducing me to my second family. There’s nobody in this world that I’d ever want to call my best friend, besides you. Anybody who has you in their life is lucky, and I hope you know that. You have an amazing ability of brightening people's lives, mine included. I can’t wait to tell my future children about my best friend and all of the times we’ve shared. Without you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today, and I am forever grateful for that. So, thank you for being the bestest friend a girl could ask for, I love you with all of my heart.

Sincerely,

Your Best Friend

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
