10 Moments To Thank The Best Friend Who Acts Like Your Mom For

We all have that one friend who is more punctual, more organized, more practical and more right than anyone else in our lives. She is calm, cool and collected most of the time but will turn her claws out to protect you in a heartbeat. She has a heart of gold and only the best intentions for you even when she’s nagging or telling you something you don’t want to here, i.e. the truth! She has no boundaries in your life and you’re OK with that because she is your best friend and also your unofficial mom. To thank these ladies for their ever present support and good times, here is a recap of the ten best “mom” moments you’ve had with your best friend.

1. The times she sat up with you all night while you drunk cried.

We hate to admit it, but drunk crying is an epidemic it is loud, ugly and embarrassing but she will sit there with you and pass you tissues as she listens to how your life is falling apart.

2. The times she brings you breakfast and Aspirin to your Saturday morning shift after taking you out Friday night.

To say sorry for the long night she walks in with apology chicken minis and suddenly the hangover isn’t as bad.

3. The times she pick you up no matter the hours.

She will never let you risk it, no matter the time or place, she’s always driving Miss Daisy home.

4. The times she critiques your outfits.

Like all mothers, their opinion on your outfit isn’t always wanted but is necessary. She has saved you from so many fashion faux pas. THANK HER!

5. The times she asks you for the biggest favors but they are nothing compared to your favors.

“Can you do me the biggest favor, if not, it’s OK!” “What is it…” “Could you send me that picture of us last night?” “Oh my God, I thought you were dying?!?”

6. The times she teaches you how to “adult.”

Do you know how to change a tire? Do you know how to get stains out of carpet? Do you know how to fix the garbage disposal? Because she does.

7. The times she makes you try new things.

From Thai food to flavored whiskeys to hair trends to fun Friday night ideas to talking to guys, she is your adventurous side.

8. The times when she keeps you on track and in check.

She knows more about your due dates and appointments and work and gym schedule than you do.

9. The times when she actually lets loose and you realize how hard being the mom is.

Watching the clock and driving and keeping all personal items not lost and being the sober goggles for guys. I don’t know how her hair isn’t gray.

10. The times when she’s the only person you want to see.

She makes you better and she is the only one who really gets you. She’s your mom and your best friend and you are so lucky to have her.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
