You actually did it

To My Best Friend Who Just Graduated

To my best friend who just graduated,

I can't believe the time we have both been waiting for is finally here for you. Since freshman year we have been talking about this day like it would never come. Some how, and some way you made it happen, and you did it early.

Looking back on old memories we shared through college gives me a chance to laugh, cry and say omg why did we think that was a good idea. You helped me grow through college and learned some lessons with me along the way. You were my shoulder to cry on, my person to run to and my open diary for all the juicy drama in my life. I just wanted to say thank you for all the things you helped me get through including the long nights out, the miserable morning afters, waking me up to make sure I got to class (even though I really didn't make it that much) and most of all for being there at my side for every event, life situation and party there was. You were my sidekick for the past four years but now it's time for you to move on.

It's not going to change our friendship and all the fun we normally have together or the things we come to mess up but it will make us grow more. You get to hit the big girl world before me so you can tell me what to do and what not do, especially since we're in the same field. You get to tell me about all your work problems and the juicy work details that no one else in your office can know. Most of all it will give us something to look forward to when we make dates to hang out and meet up for drinks.

I am not sure what I will do without you a few minutes down the road but I do know I will annoy you on snapchat and send you ugly, funny and down right embarrassing photos from my timehop every time I am bored. I know I will still call you to rant when I need to or when I need help on an outfit or craft. I also know that I will help you crash your future work parties and enjoy being your date while I surround the open bar.

I can't wait until it's my turn next to graduate and you can write me one of these sappy letters to remind me of how great of a person i am and are to you...lol but seriously I can't wait to take on the big girl world with you just like we did in our little college town. I love you to the moon and back, I am so incredibly proud of you and I can't wait to see what our future holds as friends together (probably a lot of bar dates and f*ucking sh*t up).

GOOD LUCK HUN!

Love,

your bff who loves you tons and is sad you're leaving!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
