Over the memorial day week, my best friend and I traveled to Las Vegas, and let me tell you, this was such an unforgettable trip. We stayed for three days and two nights, and I seriously did not want to leave to go home. This is definitely a trip that everyone needs to make once in their life, as soon as possible.

Our vacation to Las Vegas flew by so fast, but we definitely made memories that we will never forget. It was such an adventure and I’m so glad she was by my side to experience my first ever trip to Las Vegas.

We landed on a Tuesday morning and left on a Thursday night, so we wanted to make the most of our vacation time there. One piece of advice that we were given by countless people was, “Don’t sleep. It’s a waste of your time.” This is so true since there is so much to do, you definitely want to make every minute count. I’d like to think that we made the most of our trip, since, thanks to my Fitbit, I learned that in three days we walked 32 miles. We had early mornings and late nights to take complete advantage of our time in Vegas. And man, did we have a good time.

If I could suggest the top five things we did on our trip, they would be…

1. Go to a nightclub

We went to Omnia nightclub located inside of Caesar’s Palace and it was so amazing. The atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. P.S.: Drinks are EXPENSIVE, like, $21 a drink expensive.

2. See a show!

We were lucky enough to get Magic Mike tickets before they were sold out. Seeing Magic Mike in Las Vegas was something we will NEVER forget! And no, it’s not a strip show. It’s a bunch of wildly muscular men who dance better than any woman I’ve ever met. And did I mention it’s produced by Channing Tatum? Kinda salty he didn’t make a guest appearance though…

3. Eat at In-N-Out

Especially if you’re from the Midwest like me. It’s so good. But IMO, skip the fries. Not worth it.

4. Go zip lining

Slotzilla Zip Line is located at the Fremont Street Experience; you have the option to either sit on your butt (zip line) or lay on your stomach (zoom line) across Fremont Street. I’ve never ziplined before but it was definitely a thrill that I’ll be chasing from now on!

5. Stay out all night

There’s ALWAYS something to do. You’re in Las Vegas, damn it! The strip is just as busy late at night as it is in the middle of the day. Make use of that time there because before you know it you’ll be back at home, wishing you were back in the Vegas sun.

If you have the opportunity to go to Las Vegas, take it. I know a lot of people think that it’s too hot, but it’s really not. The weather was in the high 90s every day, and there was never a day where I was drenched in sweat or wishing I wasn’t outside. We spent every second outside and soaked up as much sun as possible. The heat is so much different than a Midwestern heat (like I’m used too). You really will have the best hair days of your life since there’s no humidity to cause your hair to frizz up. As long as you stay hydrated, you’ll be fine! I just got home from Vegas and I already want to go back!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Bucket List To Live In The Now

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
