To One Of My Best Friends As She Becomes A Bride
Hailie Dion

Hey girlie,

I can't believe we are finally here. We've passed student teaching together, completed our senior years together, and have crossed the stage to get our degrees together. So now we're here. This is the day we've talked about during our late night FaceTime chats, and before and after classes, and your big day is finally here!

I may not have known you for too long, but I've known you long enough to know that you have been eager and waiting for this day since you got engaged. And I don't blame you! You two were meant for each other, and I am so happy that you have found your person, and now you get to spend forever together.

The relationship you two have is something out of a movie. Two best friends who finally get together after years of being "just friends," fall in love, and live happily ever after! It's the relationship girls everywhere dream about, and you're living it! It might not have been the easiest thing to do, with your late night FaceTimes and notes and flowers via snail mail, but you did it! You both made it out on the other side stronger than ever, and we've finally made it to your wedding day! I'm so happy for you.

I just know you two will surely live "happily ever after." I have no doubt in my mind that he will treat you like the princess that you deserve to be treated, and that you'll work through anything that tries to get in the way of you two's happiness.

You compliment each other so nicely, and more importantly, you're best friends first! And that's a beautiful thing to see in this generation-- true love.

Just know that I am so so happy for you. And even though you'll be moving pretty far away, just know I'll be there whenever you need me-- whether it's a FaceTime call, a road trip, or an overnight flight, I'll be there. I promise.

We may have just met four years ago freshman year, but I cannot picture my life without you in it. We have made it through some of the most challenging parts of our lives together, and I do not plan on giving all of that up simply because you'll be moving to a different state after the wedding.

We may be growing up and moving on after college, but we will never move apart. You will always be one of my best friends, and I will always be here whenever you need me.

I'm so happy to have met someone like you, and to have such a great friend in you. I'm so happy that you have found happiness with your now husband (whoa that was weird to say..you're "adulting"!), and I'm so happy to be able to share in your special day with you.

Thank you for being a lifesaver these past four years, and being my friend.

I love you, pal! And congratulations on your big day!

Love always,

Hails

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
