Even though your best friend knows that you love them, it's always okay to go the extra mile. Some things will be bigger than others, but they can be small random acts of kindness. You never know how much these little things will mean to them in the long run.
1. Take as many pictures with them as you can.
There can never be too many pictures. Trust me, they'll appreciate them whenever they are having a bad day. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to show the pictures to their future significant other.
2. Make a playlist of their favorite songs.
This can range from a Spotify playlist to an actual CD they can keep in their car forever. Make sure to put in some throwback songs so they can be that awkward person in the car dancing.
3. Stay in with them when they have a lot going on.
Put on a movie and talk about all the random things that are going on in each other's lives. You'll probably need it as much as they do. Make sure you know their favorite genre of movies. You don't want to put on a scary movie and have them be terrified the entire night. It's always safe to put on a romantic comedy, because who doesn't love a romantic comedy?
4. FaceTime them whenever they need you.
Especially if you are at different colleges, just remember that even a FaceTime call for five minutes can help them decompress. This is also an excuse to screenshot them when they aren't paying attention. You can never have enough pictures to put all over social media on their birthdays.
5. Bring them their favorite ice-cream from a local favorite.
Make sure that you buy them a big pint of whatever ice-cream they desire. If they have two different flavors that are their favorite, make sure you get both so that they can save it for later.
6. Take them out shopping for the day.
Although this could take a hit to both of your bank accounts, it's worth it. You get to look at the newest trends and maybe even buy something if it's the right match.
7. Get your car and go on a random adventure.
Who doesn't like going on a long drive listening to your favorite songs with your best friend? Plan a day with your friend at a park that overlooks a scenic view. You can even bring your camera and have a photoshoot.
8. Give them tough love about their relationship choices.
Sometimes the truth really does hurt, but it's better to hear it from someone who you know loves you unconditionally. Be honest with them, but also be there when they don't always take your advice. They are counting on you to support them through everything.
9. Tag them in memes whenever it reminds you of them.
You know exactly what I'm talking about. Whenever you are on Facebook and it says to tag a friend who you love, tag your best friend. It's always the best feeling to log in and have a bunch of notifications from your friends. They can even be posts about how they have to buy you Wendy's the next time they see you.
10. Always comment on their Instagram pictures.
Let's be honest, we are always hoping that someone comments on our latest picture. Throw in a comment about how you love their new outfit they wore or how cute their dog is. You should be their number one fan on social media because you're most likely in all of their pictures.
11. Constantly remind them how much they mean to you.
This may seem self-explanatory, but it's important. We all have busy schedules and can't always communicate with each other. This can lead all of us to be self-conscious, but a simple reminder can change our moods entirely. Trust me, they know how much you love them.
Whenever your best friend is in need of some extra love, I hope that this list will help you remind them how much you care about them. Best friends are there for each other when life is good and when life gets tough. Be yourself and you should be golden.
