An Open Letter To The Best Friend Going Through A Breakup

Heartbreak is one of the worst things anybody can experience, and I am so sorry that you have to feel this pain.

Although life seems hard right now, never forget that I will be by your side every step of the way! Although we cannot be together right now because of the COVID pandemic, I am always one phone call away. I miss seeing you and your smile everyday, and you know that I am never too busy for you! Since we are not together, here are a couple of things that I wish I could say to you.

Although this is easier said than done, try to be positive about this; think of it as a learning experience. You put yourself out there, you have so many new memories, and you got to give all of your love to someone. Although that person will not be there anymore, you now have yourself and all of your friends to give you the love and support you deserve.

You will find happiness, and it may not be quick but you will experience the feelings that you once had, but for someone new. This person will love every inch of you, and never break your heart. They will get along with all of your friends, surprise you with fun dates, and be there for you through the best and worst of times. Think about this while you sit in your room just thinking about your relationship. Someone is out there for you and ready to give you the world; but until your Prince Charming appears, remember I am here for you! I am always ready for a girls night in or out, late night talks, and of course, the dinner dates.

You are an amazing person, who deserves more joy and love than anything. I love you, and together we will get through this.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
