Dear Kourt,

I, first of all, want to say thank you. Thank you for being my best friend since middle school and for sticking by my side throughout every phase of life. I know I don't tell you this enough, but you have single-handedly changed my life in such a positive way and I'm forever grateful to have a friend like you. By far one of my hardest goodbyes was parting ways with you and attending different colleges. But, from this experience, I've definitely learned that you never truly realize the impact someone has had on your life until you don't have them in your life every single day.

We have both grown so much since we first became friends. I clearly remember playing four-square together during recess in middle school like it was yesterday. By far some of my favorite times were playing club volleyball together. We somehow always found a way to make all-day tournaments and two-hour training sessions a blast. I can't imagine going through the awkward middle school years without you by my side.

I know I don't say this enough, but I am incredibly proud of the person you've become. I'm constantly amazed by how you effortlessly balance everything in your life and how you succeed in everything you set your mind to. You are by far the most selfless, positive, generous, and hardworking person I know. I can't wait to see how far you go in life, and I feel incredibly lucky to simply cheer you on. You truly are going to make a huge impact on the world and you are going to be such a force of positivity in so many people's lives. I'm lucky to be able to call you my best friend.

I want to thank you for all of the lessons you have taught me. I am constantly inspired by how you handle every challenge you face with impeccable grace. You have taught me to rise above every challenge and never let small things bring me down. You have taught me to be fearless in the pursuit of my dreams and to never listen to people who tell me my dreams are too big. You have always taught me to never underestimate my worth and to remove people from my life who do not see my value. Thank you for showing me every day what it means to be a strong, positive, and faithful person.

I know for sure that we will be in each other's lives forever. I can't wait to be each other's bridesmaids one day. Thank you for being my constant support system and for always being the person to cheer me up when I'm down. I can't imagine going through life without a friend like you. I also can't thank you enough for all of our spontaneous adventures. I am grateful for you every day. Please always know that no matter the distance between us, you will always be my best friend.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
