Thank You To One Of My Best Friends, I Wouldn't Have Survived Coastal Without You

Gab where do I even begin?

We’ve been friends since my freshman year at Coastal. We clicked right off the bat of meeting each other. You’re soon leaving me to graduate college…like less than 25 days away and I haven’t really grasped that yet. Like it seems so unreal. Where has the time gone? I remember it like it was yesterday, I was going to join a sorority here at Coastal and I met you. After that, I knew we needed to be friends. No one in this world clicks with me like you do. We honestly are equally as crazy and weird.

We’ve gone through a lot together. You’ve helped me through some really hard times in my life, even saved it once too. We’ve traveled together, done stupid things together, helped each other not be so crazy together and just all around better one another in any way we could.

And I will be forever grateful for that. We talk at least twice a week each week. We haven’t been able to see each other as much lately but we are just so busy.

The friendship you’ve given me the last four years at Coastal has been filled with memories, to say the least. You’ve helped me overcome and achieve big goals in my life or helped me make huge decisions I couldn’t make on my own. You’re also the reason why I joined Odyssey and wrote so many wonderful articles so this one is for you:

Thank you for everything Gabby.

It’s meant the world to me to have such an amazing friend by my side and I couldn’t have done many things without you. From the random car rants, the snapchats of your lunch at your internships, and babysitting, the funny snapchats of just you, inspirational texts, the check-in texts to make sure I’m doing okay and to see how I am, all of it. I’m so grateful for it. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish after you leave Coastal.

I am so proud of who you’ve become today and I’m going to miss you dearly. We’ve grown so much as individuals and together. And I know that even with you graduating were still going to be friends and talk all the time, and yes I will come visit too!

You will forever be my best friend, and I am so thankful for everything that led me to you. I couldn’t have imagined Coastal without you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
