The Best Food Specials in Iowa City

Last time I checked, everyone is always down for a great food deal. Iowa City is home to some wonderful local food establishments with even better food deals. So here is the low down on the best food deals in town and how you can avoid cooking almost every day of the week.

1. Z’mariks Mac Monday: $4 for one giant bowl of delicious mac and cheese. Perfect comfort food for the cold weather months.

2. Double Punch Tuesdays at Which Wich: Pick up a punch card and you will have a delicious, free sandwich in no time. Plus, if you have never been, you will be in shock by all the toppings and sandwich combinations you can create.

3. Formosa half-price sushi and drinks: Many of your favorite sushi rolls, appetizers and martinis are marked down every Tuesday and Thursday. Sushi twice a week…yummmmm.

4. Shorts $6 burgers on Mondays: This is a must try before you graduate. Shorts has the most unique burger combinations and they use local beef for their amazing burgers.

5. Graze buffets and brunches: Graze has a $10.99 lunch buffet Monday-Friday and a $13.99 Saturday and Sunday brunch. Who can beat a deal for every day of the week.

6. Wing Wednesdays at Brothers Bar and Grill: What is better than tasty wings for 15 cents, while watching your favorite game on the big screens?

7. Airliner half-price pizza on Tuesdays: Half price pizza is the perfect dinner for a night at home watching the game or a night out. Tuesday is practically the new Thursday.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
