Food is one of my favorite things. I honestly think 80% of my day is spent thinking about when I’m getting food, what kind of food I’m getting and where I’m going to get it. I like a lot of different types of food but I definitely have a few favorites. The reason they are my favorites is mainly that the flavor combinations that they consist of. These are my top 10 all-time favorites.
1. Buffalo and Ranch
Some people say blue cheese is the way to go when it comes to anything Buffalo flavored but here’s what I have to say to those people: NO. Ranch and buffalo were meant for each other. The perfect combo of spicy and creamy. Way better than that weird moldy cheese sauce stuff.
2. Bagels and Cream Cheese
A bagel without cream cheese is like a zebra without its stripes. That would just be a horse and although horses are cool too, zebra’s are extra cool. Why? Because they have stripes. Are you following me? Good.
3. Almond Milk and Hot chocolate
Trust me on this one. Hot chocolate with regular milk is good. But almond milk? It literally tastes like a candy bar in liquid form. Now you might be thinking: “Why would I want to drink a candy bar?” and my answer to that is, why wouldn’t you???
4. Banana and Peanut Butter
Peanut butter and jelly is gross. I just needed to say it. Gross. Not good at all. BUT banana and peanut butter. That’s a good combo. It’s human approved and doggy approved so you know it has to be good.
5. Spinach and Feta
The perfect omelet combo if you ask me. Spinach is one of those vegetables that you can put in anything and you barely know it’s there. Of course, it makes everything super green but hey health, right? Feta cheese is just one of those cheeses that I could eat all day every day. Cheese is nice. Cheese is good.
6. Sea Salt and Caramel
I have to admit. I was a bit unsure of this combo when it first started becoming a thing. It just seemed like something wrong, like mixing sugar and salt together in a bowl and eating it. Yuck. However, once you have it as a coffee or ice cream flavor. You’ll be changed forever.
7. Cranberry and Orange
Muffins. Cakes. Scones. Any bakery item with this flavor combo? I’ll take 10. I have no idea why it’s so good or why it works so well but it does. I just can’t get enough. Drooling just thinking about it.
8. Mint and Chocolate
Honestly, a pretty classic flavor. Also, kind of strange if you think about it. Who was the person who thought: “hmm, let’s take these leaves and put them in our chocolate.” Then again. You could probably say that about a lot of things.
9. Tomato and Cheese
Another top-notch pairing. Be careful though, both of these items stay hot for a long time. Way longer than to be expected and I would be lying if I told you I hadn’t burned the roof of my mouth on a few grilled cheese or pizzas. Okay, maybe more than a few. Oops.
10. Balsamic vinegar and anything
It’s. So. Good. You could put it on salads. On chicken. Maybe drizzle it over some mozzarella and tomatoes. Even stir fry. You could put it on anything and it would probably taste good. I say probably because you know… probably not ANYTHING but you get my point. It’s good, okay?
If you haven’t tried these flavor combinations, you need too! If you have and think I’m wrong, maybe I am. But maybe you should also try them again. Peanut butter and jelly is still gross. I’m not wrong about that.
