Divorce can be a very hard period in your life and it is important to work with a legal team that understands your needs well. This is because while you’re trying to determine what your life will look like in the future, the last thing you need is an inconsiderate person trying to rush you into making quick decisions. While there are many different family law attorneys in New Jersey, choosing a divorce lawyer who is right for you can be quite hard. This is simply because the sheer volume of people available can make it confusing to choose the right people for your needs.

Once you have decided that you want to file for divorce, you need to start ticking items off a basic checklist that will help you find the right divorce lawyer for your needs. To help you out, we’ve detailed each item on the checklist so that the risk of working with a team you don’t like (or is inefficient) is completely minimized.

How can you pick the right divorce lawyer?

Picking the right divorce lawyer can be an easy process if you follow these steps:

  1. Do your research! This is a step that you simply cannot avoid. You need to start by researching the different lawyers who are available in your area, along with researching their firms and their success rates. This will give you an idea about whether the people you are considering are suited to your needs. Once you’ve done the research, you’ll probably have a list of a few lawyers or firms that you want to work with. You can proceed to the next step.
  2. Start scheduling meetings! The next thing that you should do is start scheduling meetings with prospective lawyers. Think of these meetings like job interviews - you need to be able to get a feel for the team you might work with and what the people are like. Again, divorce is a very sensitive time of one’s life and it can be very hard to deal with it. Having a team that is able to support you properly is extremely important as you can ensure your physical and mental well-being.
  3. Pick a family law firm! Another important thing that you should consider is the difference between a family law firm and a large firm. Large firms are typically made for corporate lawyers, though you might find divorce lawyers working at large firms too. However, a family firm is a firm that specializes specifically in divorce law and family-related issues. As a result, when you pick a family law firm, you end up working with experts who are working in this specific field and know exactly what needs to be done to ensure a quick divorce. Looking for the right experts? Contact the best Family law attorney in New Jersey now!
  4. Read online reviews! These days, every service is available for scrutiny online, and the same can be said for divorce lawyers too. You can read about the different law firms or about famous lawyers in your area to understand whether it’s worth scheduling an interview with them. Reviews can give you an indication of whether the team was sensitive to the client’s needs, able to help out properly, and whether there were any red flags.
Speak to friends and family! Finally, if you are comfortable with this, you should speak to your divorce friends or family members who may be able to recommend a good lawyer. They’ll be able to give you references and it will be easier to find the right people through this method.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
