Drag out those Piko tops and riding boots because it’s that time of year again…It’s fall! We all have those classic go-to’s we wear all season, but why not mix it up? Here are10 fall fashion trends for 2016, made for the everyday girl.

1. Pumpkin spice and everything nice

As if you couldn’t get more basic, there’s now a reason to love pumpkin spice even more. Almost every collection in the New York Fashion Week 2016 has featured this burnt orange color. It's flattering on lots of different skin tones and can help mix up your usual fall color collection.

2. "Mom Jeans”

These high waisted jeans may feel like you’re back in the 80’s, but you can’t go wrong wearing these bad boys. If you have love handles you want to hide, these are the perfect way to do it, and of course embrace your inner Kardashian.

3. Velvet

During New York Fashion Week, this fabric was considered the go-to for this fall season. It was seen at numerous fashion shows, including that of Giorgio Armani and H&M. Out of all the fall looks I’ve seen from the week, this is definitely the most realistic for the everyday person.

4. Camel Coat

With colder weather coming our way, so do the countless jackets plastered on Pinterest. This jacket is an easy way to make you look put together wherever you go. Whether you’re going to the grocery store or on your way to work, you can’t go wrong with this staple coat.

5. Dressed-Up Bohemian

Bohemian-inspired outfits have been a trend the past few years, especially for summer and spring, but you don’t see it quite as much during fall. Well, that is about to change! A lot of big designers are dressing it up with a pair of flared pants or creating long-sleeve, boho style maxi dresses. Either way, this trend makes your outfit look effortless and chic.

6. Turtlenecks and Chunky Sweaters

When fall rolls around, there's always a need to find a new sweater to add to your already ginormous collection of them. Well, a huge trend for sweaters is either the tight turtleneck tucked in to some high-waisted jeans or an oversized sweater with a pair of skinnies or leggings. You can instantly make your outfit look more stylish by adding one of these to your wardrobe.

7. (Everything) Flannel

I know it’s basic. Trust me...BUT how can you go wrong with a flannel, some jeans and riding boots? Exactly, you can't! This look is classic, and during this fall season, you may see a lot more of the flannel design in dresses, as well as flannels tied around the waist.

8. Block-Heel Booties

According to Who What Wear, block-heel booties make up 31 percent of the market, which is considerably higher than last year’s 16 percent. The numbers don’t lie! Ankle wedge boots are out, and block-heel booties are in.

9. Button Front Skirt

This trend is relatively new but makes a great addition to your closet. Whether denim or corduroy, it gives a retro vibe that’s really in this season.

10. Blanket Scarf

These huge scarves are the perfect fall accessory. They are thick enough to keep you comfy and warm without looking like you've lost your neck or something tragic like that. A lot of the chunkier scarves from past seasons have been incredibly too thick to wear for fall. This scarf can easily transition from fall to winter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
