Since 2004 Ed Sheeran has been making us swoon over his lyrical metaphors and smoothe melodies. From upbeat and edgy songs like "Don't" to slow heart melting songs like "Give Me Love" Ed steals hearts and takes names like no other. Here is a list of some of his best works of lyrical ~magic~

"Tell you the truth I hateWhat didn't kill me
It never made me stronger at all" - Drunk

We are so frequently told the cliche "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" which is more often than not very tough to believe when faced with a setback. So #relateable

"I never told her that I likedThe way she dances slightly out of timeAnd pretends she knows the words, to a song she's never heard
But I tell her all the time" - Goldrush

"I want to be drunk when I wake up on the right side of the wrong bed" -Drunk

Using a slightly altered version of a phrase as well known as "waking up on the wrong side of the bed" to describe his possible successes or failures of the night while still drunk, amazing.

"And I don't get waves of missing you anymoreThey're more like tsunami tides in my eyes" - UNI

The first line may lead you to think that this is a nice song about forgiveness and moving on. However, it takes a quick and almost comical turn as the beat speeds up and the lyrics get deeper.

And all of the voices surrounding us here They just fade out when you take a breath - Tenerife Sea

"And keep you sheltered from all that I've done wrong
And I know you'll say that I'm the only one
But I know that god made another one of me
To love you better than I ever will " -UNI

To me, there is no better representation of Ed Sheeran's writing than this. He so humbly admits his mistakes and there is someone out there better for her. :(

"And I'll carve it like a necklace
So the heart falls where your chest is
And now a piece of me is a piece of the beach and it falls just where it needs to be
And rests peacefully
So you just need to breathe
To feel my heart against yours now
Against yours now"- Wake me up

FEELS

"And I said that's fine but you're the only one that knows I lied"- UNI

Another #relatebale line, I mean really.

"Whenever I was away
I’d miss you
I miss you" - Sunburn

Six words and one change of tense from past to present is enough to MOVE a crowd. He did just miss you THEN he misses you NOW.

"And should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it's enough for me
'Cause all that you are is all that I'll ever need" -Tenerife Sea

:)))))))

"Ooh I'm a mess right now" - I'm a Mess

We've all been there.

Thank you, Ed, for gracing us with your genius.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
