The Best Cuddling Positions Ranked

In This Article:

Whether you're taking a nap, watching TV, or going to sleep for the night, cuddling with your partner can be one of the most relaxing and comforting feelings. It can also be extremely hot and sweaty, and not in a good way. These are some of my all time favorite cuddling positions, as well as the pros and cons that come along with them.

Spooning

You cannot go wrong with spooning. No matter your gender, your size, or your cuddling preferences, everyone can enjoy spooning.

Pros: Being held by your partner. Feeling the warmth of their body. The security of an embrace. It is very comfortable.

Cons: Your arms will fall asleep at some point. Big spoon is constantly breathing down your neck. Everyone wants to be the little spoon. Sweating profusely from the heat radiating off of their body. Hair will always be in the big spoon's face.

Half Spoon

This is typically how most girls sleep anyway, but the half spoon can go either way.

Pros: It is very comfortable. There is plenty of room to move your legs around. It is still very close, but not extremely hot.

Cons: Sleeping on your back can get tiring quickly. The person on their side might have to adjust their arm to avoid going numb.

Leg Hug

This one allows for some distance while still being intertwined.

Pros: You can move fairly freely. You still feel close to your partner. You won't overheat.

Cons: Some may say this position is too distant. You have to find the exact right spot to be comfortable.

Embracing

This one is really close. Maybe too close.

Pros: This is basically as close as you can get with your partner. Very intimate. Very warm.

Cons: You might have to work out arm positions. It will probably get very hot and sweaty.

Back to Back

Is this even cuddling?

Pros: You have plenty of room to move around. You still feel the presence of your partner, but you won't get too hot.

Cons: Takes up more room, which could lead to hogging covers. Might not even be considered cuddling.

Depending on how you are feeling, any of these cuddling positions can work for you and your partner. From very close and intimate to hardly touching at all, everyone has their preferences for cuddling that may change throughout the night.

In conclusion, cuddling is good for us, and we could all use more of it. Not only will it enhance your emotional health, but also your physical and mental health as well. So choose your favorite position, grab your partner, and take a nap; you probably need it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
