In This Article:

There has been a growing amount of bands and musical artists that have been releasing music lately, many of them some of media's biggest names. With the new release of music comes tour dates, and what better way to show your love for your favorite music than in person? After reading you'll be inclined to buy tickets to these shows immediately, so let's start 2019 off on the right foot and get these tickets before they sell out.

Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots has had a largely increasing fanbase for the past few years now. When I first saw them in concert they played at a House of Blues location with a maximum capacity of 300. Now, they consistently sell out arenas and stadiums, and are a top name at a number of major music festivals across the country. The alternative rock band has been known to integrate their crowd into their live shows. Between them rolling through the crowd in large clear hamster-like balls, and having the crowd hold them up with their hands while performing, you can say there is nothing less than spectacular about their shows. They are currently on a world tour promoting their latest album Trench, and will be hitting dozens of major U.S. cities this summer.

Kacey Musgraves

Kacey Musgraves is a soft country artist that has been around for years but has just recently fallen into the spotlight. Her lyrics are extremely gentle and create a strong feeling of peace and beauty. Her popularity sparked with the release of her album Golden Hour in 2018, and from it she has received four Grammy nominations. Many of her songs are slow and calming, which is just one reason why she stands out compared to other country and female artists. Her success has definitely not gone unnoticed, as she already has plans to perform at music festivals such as Coachella and Bonnaroo later this year. Her shows are extremely anticipated, so if you are wanting to see her live this spring, buy your tickets soon before all of the good seats are gone.

Jon Bellion

Jon Bellion is an up-and-coming American rapper that has spent over a dozen years in the music scene already. Although not a major name in the genre, he was worked with big name artists such as ZEDD, Quincy Jones, Cee Lo Green, and Vice. He released his latest album Glory Sound Prep in late 2018, and has already announced a summer U.S. tour. He has been known to write and produce the majority of his music in his living room, because that is where he can think creatively. The setting of his shows is often intimate, but his shows are extremely energizing and hype. He puts a lot of passion into his music, and in the crowd you are able to feel that from him. Jon Bellion's freestyling paired with the crowd environment is what really makes his shows stand out.

LANY

LANY is an alternative pop band that has been rising in popularity within the past few years. They have a strong following of young adults, and they are able to put on some of the best live performances. LANY's popularity comes from their soft songs that relates to both heartbreak and newfound love. The band puts a lot of thought in their lyrics and emotion in their shows, and it really resonates with you when you see them live. Their shows are emotionally captivating and they have played countless numbers of big name music festivals in the past. They tend to play smaller venues so I highly recommend you buy tickets for their Malibu Nights album tour soon as they will sell out fast.

The 1975

The 1975 is an alternative band that has a large underground fanbase. Considering their limited amount of radio play, they have one of the largest and most passionate fanbases. Their music style varies album to album, with their recently released album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships taking on more of an indie songwriter sound. Lead singer Matthew Healy has been known to get extremely emotional during his shows, often times holding the hands of his fans. Each album that The 1975 releases is lyrically nostalgic and full of strong emotions. If you are one who loves an intimate show, you won't want to miss when they tour the U.S. this summer.

Imagine Dragons

Last on the list but not for a bad reason is Imagine Dragons. With the anticipated arrival of their album Origins in late 2018, they have already had three high-ranked radio singles. Their popularity arose immediately following their first album, and they have not had a disappointing release since. The band puts an enormous amount of effort and energy into every single of their shows, with their tickets often times selling out months in advance. One of the most powerful moments during their shows is their alternative performance version of their biggest hit Radioactive. They are last on my list for today not because they do not rank as high as the others, but simply because they have not yet announced their tour dates. However, sometime in 2019 their tour will start, and you will definitely want to be on the lookout because missing out on a show from these guys is definitely something you will regret.

As an avid concert goer, I can tell you first hand that if you go to any of these shows in the future, they will likely blow you away. With all of these tours happening within the next few months, make sure to buy tickets in advance and round up some friends to go with! But most importantly, make sure to preapre yourself to see some amazing live music.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
