1. Not Just Coffee

Located in Uptown Charlotte, a hipster atmosphere makes for a chill place to get coffee, or even more (get it). Why not spice up your Instagram and add some twinkly lights in the background of your coffee art?

2. Coco and the Director

If I could think of a coffee shop heaven, I would imagine myself here. It has so much character, and bean bags to sit on. They have really figured out us coffee connoisseurs. They also do Trivia Thursday's for those who like to go all out.

3. Amelie's

Well, this is a given. I had to include it because it is awesome, and also has an amazing selection of french deserts. Macaroons, creme brûlée, crescents, mousse cups and much much more. If you have not tried it, put down your computer and go. After all, it is open 24/7 (the one in Noda is).

4. Dean and Deluca

Also in uptown, this is probably one of the most fanciest coffee shops. It has wonderful deserts and meals as well.

5. Julia's Cafe and Books

Not only will the coffee benefit you, but you will be helping your community as well. Every purchase supports Habitat for Humanity! It is a unique coffee shop that also sells used books located right next to ReStore.

6. Smelly Cat

Located in Noda, this place has a cultured brew and inspiring local art. You definitely need to try out this award winning coffee house.

7. Mugs Coffee

Also another business supporting local artists, and they sell handmade mugs! Check this one out in Southpark.

8. Central Coffee Co

This little shop in Plaza Midwood has a timeless appeal. From scones to muffins, it has the true coffee shop vibe.

9. Nova's Coffee

With many locations, this place has amazing coffee and even better pastries. They are known for their freshly baked bread.

10. FABO

Last, but not least. This place serves coffee, art, AND a bar. They have a great selection of wine and craft beer. They host art classes as well.

Enlighten your coffee-loving tastebuds. With an amazing selection here in Queen City, these 10 coffee shops are a must. You will never go bored with your daily coffee again. No, I am not a super hero, just trying to offer my coffee opinion to others. You can thank me later.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
