The election is now over and many Americans are wondering, what’s next?
Some people are excited and hopeful for the future of our nation, but others are uncertain and scared for what is coming next.
Scrolling through my Facebook and Twitter feed this past week, I have seen many people express their desire to move to Canada, England or some other country.
If you’re wishing to migrate to Canada before January 20th or just want to go for fun then continue reading because I’ve compiled a list of the best cities to visit (or live) in Canada.
1. Vancouver
Located on British Columbia's coast, this Canadian city has everything to offer. While visiting (or living) in Vancouver you will be able to enjoy the mountains, sea, shopping and kayaking all in one day. Vancouver is constantly reinventing itself by revitalizing rundown parts of town.
2. Quebec City
Historic Quebec City is the best of both worlds. Inside the stone walls, you can find cobblestone streets filled with historic charm. But on the outside, you can find thriving metropolis filled with nightclubs and high-end restaurants. Quebec City transforms into a winter wonderland during the months of January and February when the city hosts its annual 17-day winter carnival.
3. Ottawa
The capital city of Ottawa is perfect for anyone wanting to escape to music festivals and hockey tournaments. The city may look all business with the large government buildings filling the skylines, but Ottawans show they like to have fun through their bustling new pubs. Throughout the year Ottawa hosts multiple music festivals including, RBC Bluesfest and Ottawa Jazz Festival.
4. Toronto
Over the past few years, the capital of Ontario has been in a building boom. On Queen Street West you are able to explore art galleries, boutiques, and unique shops. Visit Kensington Market to browse numerous vintage clothing shops and visit the Distillery District to wander through artist's showrooms which once was the world's largest distillery. Toronto is full of hidden charm and is the perfect place to spend hours exploring the different neighborhoods.
5. Victoria
The small island town is filled with dozens of craft breweries, bohemian shops, and locally owned bakeries. Get a dose of nature by walking through the many private and publically know gardens that give Victoria the name of "City of Gardens". One of Victoria's most famous gardens is the Victoria Butterfly Garden which houses over 3,000 free-flying butterflies. Every August, the city hosts a floating concert where the Victoria Symphony performs in the inner harbor.
Canadian cities have a lot to offer and may be housing an abundance of Americans in the upcoming months.
