I am a Christmas fanatic. When Halloween ends, Christmas begins. Cue the Christmas music on November 1st because Christmas deserves more than just one day of the year! At college, it's difficult to make time to watch all of the best Christmas movies since school and social lives take over. However, when I get home after finals, these are the 10 Christmas movies that I have to watch:
1. "White Christmas"
"White Christmas" s my favorite Christmas movie of all time. Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen shine in this 1954 classic. The music and dancing make it a memorable and remarkable movie that will have everyone singing along.
2. "The Santa Clause"
Tim Allen is the best Santa Claus there is. I wish that he comes to my house for Christmas! This movie is funny, witty, and straight up awesome. It was made in the 1990s, so the hair and Christmas sweaters are BIG.
3. "Elf"
Will Ferrell is a comedic genius. "Elf" was made only in 2003, yet this movie is a classic that everyone has seen. Don't be a cotton headed ninny muggin and watch it!
4. "It’s A Wonderful Life"
"Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings." This is a heart-warming movie that discusses topics of mental health and suicide. An angel is brought to George Bailey to show him what everyone's lives would be like if he was never born.
5. "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"
This is a stop-motion television special that aired in 1970 on ABC. This movie is full of music and magic, telling the story of how Mr. and Mrs. Claus came to be.
6. "Home Alone"
Although I love "Home Alone," sometimes I wonder how Kevin's parents forgot him. On top of that, burglars are after Kevin, but he never calls the police. Why?! Hmm.. these questions keep me awake at night.
7. "A Christmas Story"
"You'll shoot your eye out!" All poor little Ralphie wants in a Red Ryder B. B. gun for Christmas and his dad thinks that's a bad idea. Does he actually shoot his eye out? Watch to find out.
8. "National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation"
If you're not into the mushy gushy, carol-singing Christmas movies, "Christmas Vacation" is for you. It's rowdy has lots of profanity – perfect for millennials.
9. "The Polar Express"
"The Polar Express" is based on a children's book and brings child-like glee into my heart when I watch it. It follows a little boy who doubts that Santa is real. Then he goes on the magical Polar Express train and visits the North Pole, which changes the way he feels.
10. "Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
All I can say about this movie is that the Grinch is all of us. He is cynical, funny, and revenge-seeking. What's not to like about him? He also has a cute dog! #goals
