Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is finally time to listen to Christmas music. Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like listening to Christmas songs. Because there is just so much Christmas music out there, it can be tedious to sort through and find the best of the best.
These are the 11 albums I go back to year after year to feel festive.
1. "Christmas" – Michael Bublé
Bublé will serenade you with his smooth voice and fun take on classic holiday tunes. The album did well when it was released and has become a personal favorite of mine.
2. "The Andy Williams Christmas Album"
A throwback to the '60s, William's album stands as a feel-good heartwarming Christmas album. Featuring several well-known Christmas hymns and songs, this album is easy listening for when you're putting up your Christmas tree, decorating your house with wreaths, or just in a particularly festive mood.
3. "Merry Christmas" – Bing Crosby
This is an even bigger throwback, all the way to 1945. One of the best-selling Christmas albums of all time, it features Crosby's take on several Christmas classics, including "White Christmas," which is the best-selling single ever. It's best to listen to during the first snow of the season, or really any day that is merry and bright.
4. "A Pentatonix Christmas"
One of the most popular acapella bands, this is Pentatonix's second Christmas album. Though this album debuts a couple of original pieces, it's mainly feel-good Christmas hymns and songs. There may not be any instruments, but it's enough to put you in the holiday spirit.
5. "The Magic of Christmas" – Nat King Cole
The only holiday album Cole ever released, it was the best-selling Christmas album of the '60s. It features some classic Christmas tunes as well as holiday songs.
6. "A Charlie Brown Christmas" – Vince Guaraldi
A classic comic strip meets a classic Christmas album. Guaraldi puts a jazzy spin on traditional Christmas songs, creating the unique sounds you can hear in the cartoon short. In 2007, the album was voted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
7. "The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album"
One of the best holiday albums to ever come out of rock, this album did well on the Billboard charts and went gold. It's a great classic and may make you start calling Santa Claus "Little Saint Nick."
8. "Merry Christmas" – Mariah Carey
Released in the '90s, this album has proved year after year to be a Christmas classic. While all the songs are great to listen to, easily the most popular is "All I Want for Christmas is You," one of the best-selling singles of all time.
9. "Christmas Kisses" – Ariana Grande
Though featuring two original songs, this album is mainly covers of Christmas songs. Ariana's incredible talent especially shines in her renditions.
10. Christmas Portrait – Carpenters
An oldie but a goodie. This album features mainly traditional Christmas hymns. It's a great one to listen to while holding a cup of hot chocolate and watching your chestnuts roast on the open fire.
11. A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector
Though this album performed poorly when it was released, it has since become notable, ranking on Rolling Stone's list of 500 best albums ever. It features Christmas classics from many noteworthy artists, like The Crystals and Darlene Love.
