Everyone has those staple memories that they remember from their childhood. It could be the food you ate, the friends you had, where you played, etc. For me, one of the main memories I have growing up was watching cartoons with my sister in the morning before we went to school.

Everything from Playhouse Disney, Nick Jr., and PBS Kids, my childhood was filled with catchy songs and life lessons. I have been in a nostalgic mood recently, which has consisted of me watching episodes of all the shows I grew up watching.

While the list could go on and on, here are a few of my favorites.

1. 'Bear in the Big Blue House'

This was one of my favorite shows when I was little and it's such an underrated song. On another note, can we talk about the harmony in this song?

2. 'Teletubbies'

I still don't understand how this show didn't freak me out as a child, but hey, you love what you love.

3. 'Wonderpets'

What's better than watching animals help other animals while learning about animals?

4. 'VeggieTales'

I'm 18, almost 19, years old and I still listen to "VeggieTales" on the daily.

5. 'Blue's Clues'

This is the best way to get your kids excited about getting the mail.

6. 'Clifford the Big Red Dog'

Not gonna lie, I dreamed of having a big red dog like Clifford.

7. 'Arthur'

I didn't watch "Arthur" as much as I watched some of the others on this list, but it was definitely a favorite.

8. 'Dragon Tales'

I can't be the only kid that wanted a dragon or to go to dragon land.

9. 'The Wiggles'

"Yummy, Yummy."

10. 'Choo Choo Soul'

Who doesn't love a little soul while singing the Alphabet?

11. 'Little Einsteins'

This theme song is such a jam.

12. 'Franklin'

Let's be honest, we all wanted to play with Franklin.

13. 'Little Bill'

This was a STAPLE in my childhood.

14. 'JoJo's Circus'

Was I the only kid that wanted to join the circus after this cartoon?

15. 'Rolie Polie Olie'

Can we bring this back?

16. 'Barney'

I am 18 years old and I still know every word.

17. 'Bob The Builder'

Who else thought construction machines could talk?

18. 'Maggie and The Ferocious Beast'

Still waiting to go on my trip to Nowhere Land.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
