Reading is a great pastime; dive into exciting new worlds, learn new things, explore the past, and so much more is available only a page turn away! But it can get expensive, too - I find it difficult to get more than two paperbacks at Barnes & Nobel for less than $25, and usually closer to $30. Online books can be cheaper, but then there's shipping costs if it's a hard copy, and if it's an e-book you need to have a supporting platform and...
Well, frankly, it's expensive to be a bookworm.
Which is why I was so thrilled to find BookBub! It's an online program you sign up for through their website - just put in when platforms you use (Nook, Kindle, iBooks, etc.) and then choose some genres and authors. Every day you'll receive an email with about eight or ten different books that might appeal to your tastes, and here's the best part; most of them are $2, $1, or completely free!
Most of the titles offered are from small authors, names you probably haven't heard before. One book I recently got for free on Amazon Kindle was Apocalypticon by Clayton Smith - a funny, fast-paced book about the end of the world, three years after the fact, and one man's quest to get from Chicago to Disney World based on his supply of Snack Pack puddings. It was a great read, just a little over 300 pages, and I was giggling almost the entire time. Did I mention it was completely free?
BookBub is an amazing resource, a must-have for any reader, and you can sign up right here! Go enjoy all your new, cheap books!
