Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. This eyeliner is my holy grail. I usually reach for liquid eyeliner cautiously because many eyeliners I have tried smudge, transfer, crumble, etc. But Kat Von D's tattoo liner in trooper is the perfect black liquid eyeliner. Something about swiping this on makes me feel put together in a matter of seconds. Also, I've found that with this precise felt tip, it is easier to create a look than with other liquid eyeliners I have tried in the past. Get ithere.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. Benefit’s roller lash was a big favorite of mine this year. This mascara is different than others that i’ve tried. The wand is a unique design, with smaller and more compact bristles on one side, and larger more spread out bristles on the other. One side gives you full volume, while the other gives you great length. The formula is also quite dry, which is a personal preference, never causing it to smudge when first applying. Get it here.

Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette. This palette is something I couldn’t have lived without this year. I had never tried Lorac’s products before buying this palette, but after testing it out in the store, I knew the ten eyeshadows in there were of great quality. These shades are perfect for everyday wear, or can be combined together or with eyeliner to wear out. Also, a bonus, I used this almost everyday since the spring and have barely made a dent in it. Totally worth the $42! Get ithere.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector - Pressed. Becca’s highlighters are like magic. All of the colors she makes are gorgeous and versatile, as well as being great quality. She managed to make these highlighters into fine powders with incredible amounts of sparkle, without being too glittery or making the skin look oily. It is truly the perfect highlighter and automatically makes you glow. Get it here.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette. Anastasia’s palette is an absolute gamechanger. This palette includes 14 eyeshadows, and an endless list of looks you can create with them. These colors offer something for everyone; warm, cool, and some brighter shades for a pop of color. It even offers different types of eyeshadows like matte, satin, and metallic finishes. Anastasia is known for being high quality, and with this palette they did not disappoint. This palette is $42, which is a bargain considering ABH’s single shadows are usually $12 each. This is selling out everywhere, so get it while you still can! Get it here.

Colourpop Highlighter. Colourpop is a smaller brand than some of the others mentioned above, but they do have quite the following. Colourpop is an online brand, with drugstore makeup prices, and higher quality makeup. All of their makeup is unique, but their eyeshadows and highlighters are like something i’ve never seen. This year I bought one of their highlighters in ‘Flexitarian’, and it is completely different than any other highlighter I own. Their formula is a gel-like creme, but when put on the skin, it turns to powder. The color payoff is incredible, and best when used with just your fingers. It’s hard to even explain what Colourpop’s products feel like, so I suggest buying one to understand what I mean! Get it here.

Tonymoly Delight Tint Crayon. I discovered Tonymoly’s products earlier this year when I used their face masks that are now sold at Ulta and Sephora. What I didn’t know is that TonyMoly has a whole beauty line and the products are absolutely amazing. Even though this is a Korean brand, they are available online in the US, as well as select stores throughout the country. Since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to visit their NYC store. There, I found one of my favorite products I own, the delight tint crayon in green. I know, green? Yes. This color is magic, and turns to a natural pink when it hits skin. This lip tint gives off the perfect amount of color, and adjusts to your own color! It gives you incredibly soft lips and a perfect sheen, without being too much or sticky. I highly recommend! Sold out in green, but available here in other colors.

Kat Von D Lock It Foundation. I only discovered this foundation a few months ago, but it has quickly become one of my favorites. This foundation covers everything that you want it to, and stays that way the whole day. It does not budge or move around, and it doesn’t leave me feeling over oily or dry. Kat recently expanded the colors in her collection as well, proving another reason of why this is on my list. Bonus! All her products are vegan and are never tested on animals. Get it here.

Nyx Butter Lip Balm. One of the best lip balms i’ve ever owned. Nyx’s butter lip balm makes your lips super soft, and keeps lips moisturized all day long. This lip balm also gives off a good amount of color, somehow giving off a matte finish, while providing moisture. This will and continue to be one of my favorite lip products, especially costing me a total of $4. Get it here.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. This was the first bronzer I’ve ever really tried, and I’m sure glad it was. First off, it smells like chocolate. Second, it works extremely well if you have super pale skin like I do. I was always afraid to try bronzer/contour products in fear of looking too muddy. But, with this product in the lightest shade, I have found my match. This works beautifully into the skin, making you look natural, but also giving you the contoured look. It also works if you have a heavy hand because it is hard to put on too much with this product. PS. this pairs perfectly with a peach toned blush! Get it here.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

You need sleep, but also have 13 things due in the span of 4 days.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

student thinking about finals in library
StableDiffusion

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
