7 Of The Best 'Beauty And The Beast' Quotes
Jessica Elman

In This Article:

Working at a summer camp, I was recently tasked with choosing a Disney movie theme and creating posters to decorate my hallway. I chose Beauty and the Beast, and by creating many posters revolving around the movie, I realized how many important messages and quotes the movie has, so here are a few!

1. “She warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within”

This quote really demonstrates what the movie is about. Belle falls in love with the beast despite his exterior, because she can see beyond the way he looks and see him for who he is on the inside.

2. “Love does not have the be perfect, it just has to be true”

In today’s society, posting about every aspect of your life on social media is so common, but people only post the good. For relationships, the same is true — people post and publicize the happy times in their relationships, and this creates an unrealistic sense of perfection. There is no such thing as a perfect love, but there is such thing as a true love.

3. “You do not have time to be timid, you must be bold, daring”

This quote was said by Lumière and it is an important thing to keep in mind if you are in a situation of feeling uncertain or shy. Lumière emphasizes that we do not have time to live our lives being shy and scared to do the things that we want to do.

4. “It will turn out alright in the end, you will see”

Mrs. Potts is not only the mother of Chip, but a motherly figure to many throughout the movie. She is positive and reassuring, as shown by this quote. It is important to believe that everything will work out in the end, and that no matter what you are going through at the moment, it will be okay eventually.

5. “Sometimes, the best book has the dustiest cover and sometimes, the best teacup is chipped”

Not only is this quote absolutely adorable, but it has a good message. Nothing in life is perfect, and we need to be thankful for what we have, despite its flaws — whether that is related to people or tangible objects. I also love the part about the dusty book because it circles back to not being fooled by appearances.

6. “I want an adventure in the great, wide somewhere”

Millenials are shown to prefer spending money on experiences such as concerts or traveling as opposed to material objects. Belle’s modesty in Beauty and the Beast really exemplifies this and shows us that it is vital to adventure and get out of your comfort zone in order to live life to the fullest.

7. “Take it with you so you will always have a way to look back, and remember me”

The Beast says this as he gives Belle a gift, but even if there were no physical gift, the lesson is still just as important. Even when people leave our life and go different ways, it is not bad to reminisce and remember the way things used to be.
