They may be antiquated, but they sure are good.

Music nowadays is full of autotune and bad rhymes accompanied by trashy music videos. What makes this worse is that a lot of times my taste of music is 'shocking' to other kids my age. Here a list of the best bands to listen to to not only open your horizon but give you insight into music that shaped the world.

1. The Beatles

No matter how cliche it sounds, the Beatles revolutionized music. Despite their short career as a band, they left one of the biggest impacts on musicians and the world. Best songs? Abbey Road Medley, Come Together, and Hey Jude (cliche I know!).

2. Pink Floyd

I first heard Us and Them when I was in fifth grade, and from then on I've been hooked. Pink Floyd is known for the psychedelic feeling music combined with rock and blues. They sure aren't just another brick in the wall.

3. Elvis Presley

While this is an artist and not a band, he deserves just as much recognition. Elvis is probably the most iconic performer ever, maybe tied with Michael Jackson. While his career took a hit in the 60's his music was nonetheless amazing considering he could sing most anything. Highly recommended listening to American Trilogy.

4. The Eagles

The Eagles are also another one of my favorite bands. Take It Easy and Already Gone are epic songs for a road trip.

5. The Rolling Stones

Another iconic band, the Stones changed the music scene just as the Beatles had done. Their edgy frontman Mick Jagger took the hearts of young girls and captured the ears of generations to come.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
