Not to be a millennial, but avocados are bomb. They're versatile, creamy, and packed full of healthy fats and nutrients. But don't be fooled - there's a lot more to them than guacamole. Here are seven ways you can swap an avocado into your daily treats—and avocadon't judge them by their looks.
1. Avocado toast
This one's a classic. Scoop out some green and spread it on a crunchy piece of toast and you have a yummy and nutritious breakfast or snack. Add toppings at your discretion.
2. Avocado with seasoning (whatever you have!)
My personal fav for this is Everything But The Bagel blend from Trader Joes. Just like it sounds, it's the yummy seasoning on the outside of an everything bagel. Slice an avocado in half, sprinkle a little on, and all you need is a spoon and you're good to go. Buy the blend here and go on your merry way.
3. Baked egg in an avocado
People make some really weird faces when I bring this one up. But I promise: it's so good and so good for you. Scoop out the pit of the avocado, crack an egg in the hole, and place it in the oven until the egg looks done. Top with salt and whatever else you like for a delicious and filling breakfast or snack.
4. Avocado ice cream
I know, I know. It sounds (and looks) really weird. But I promise it's tasty. With only a handful of ingredients other than avocados, it's pretty simple and much healthier than your typical frozen treat. Here's a good recipe to keep on hand.
5. Avocado and tuna
Another recipe of simple swaps to make a classic tastier and healthier. Just mash an avocado in with the tuna instead of mayonnaise and you've got a fun twist on everyone's favorite lunch.
6. Avocado pasta
This one lets you play around with a classic alfredo for something a little lighter. Mash some avocado with lemon juice, garlic, and basil, and you have a savory sauce that's packed full of nutrients.
7. Avocado brownies
And dessert to cap it all off. Not only does this make for a denser and fudgier brownie than the classics, but it also turns the sweet vegan, too. Swap the eggs for half an avocado and you won't even be able to tell the difference.
