Best Animated Shows For Relaxation

As we move on to finals and plan our next labor-filled semester, it’s hard to stay relaxed when so much is going on. While it’s important to stay on top of our busy schedules and meet our various deadlines, one equally important job to do in our lives is to shut our brains off. Being overworked can cause us to lose sight of everything that’s going on in our lives so it’s best to relax whenever we can. With so much horrible and negative events happening in the world, it’s sometimes hard to settle down with the usual TV programs. For many, watching animation is excellent way to relax after a stressful day, so here’s a list of some great animated titles that will help brighten it.

American Dad

Another gem from comedy master Seth MacFarlane, American Dad brings the controversy and laughs, leaving no one excluded as a target. Whether it’s Stan’s overbearing personality, Steve’s failures to get a girl, or Roger just being Roger, the Smith family will definitely put a smile on your face…if you can take their outrageousness.

Regular Show

As everyone knows: there’s nothing regular about this show. Following two 20-somethings named Mordecai and Rigby, you’ll see the most crazy and hilarious situations in this 80’s inspired future classic.

Polar Bear's Café

For anime fans and lovers of anything cute, whimsical, and animal-related, Polar Bear's Café is a 50 episode “Slice of Life” show about a Polar Bear named...Polar Bear, running a Cafe in Japan. Following the usual and hilarious exploits of his friends Panda and Mr. Penguin, the show is fun, calming, and even heartwarming. It’s available to watch on Crunchyroll.

We Bare Bears

Before you ask, there is absolutely no relation to the above mentioned show (PBC premiered first back in 2012) and Cartoon Network’s latest hit. We Bare Bears follows a trio of bear brothers and their wheartfelt adventures in attempts to fit in with the human crowd. A fun and comedy filled show, you’re bound to pick a favorite out the three.

Steven Universe

This show is increasing in popularity, and with good reason, too. Steven Universe tells the tale of a upbeat boy and his heartwarming adventures with the “Crystal Gems”. Bound to put a smile on your face and even make you shed a tear.

If you're an animation lover, you're bound to love these shows. Happy watching!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
