2016 has been nothing short of interesting. Full of political turmoil, memes, great movies, Netflix hits, Queen B slaying, Pokemon dominating the summer, and Olympic scandals. Here are my top picks for pop culture Halloween costumes that I think we're going to see a lot of. Do you have your costume yet? If not, maybe this list will help you figure out what you wanna be! You still have plenty of time to go out to the store or scour your house for your costume.

Beyonce "Lemonade"

If you can find a ruffly long yellow dress, a crimper, and a baseball bat, you’re in business.

Snapchat filters

I still haven’t figured out my costume this year, but I’m really leaning towards a snap filter! It would be a lot of fun to do and super simple! Just need to find a onesie to pair with it :)

Emojis

My 2 favorite emojis are heart eyes and the crying laughing face. This is the pumpkin I just carved last night. I love it!

Presidential Candidates

Since we don’t see enough of Clinton and Trump’s faces on TV and the internet, be prepared to see them roaming your city on Halloween.

Ken Bone

The man who captivated a nation during his 15 minutes of internet fame. All you need is a mustache, glasses, and his iconic red sweater for this costume!

Ghostbusters

So many options to choose from with this wonderful cast.

Eleven from "Stranger Things"

Eleven would be a super easy costume! Just need a blonde wig (or not if you're going for her bald look) and some 80’s looking clothes. She’s a BAMF!

Short hair Cersei Lannister from "Game of Thrones"

Right after she blew things up. Don’t forget your glass of wine!

The Shame Nun From "Game of Thrones"

In my opinion, she's single-handedly the most annoying character from this show. It would be a great costume though!

"Formation" Video Beyoncé

Sis, if you can pull this look off... you're going to slay!

Ryan Lochte/Lochtegate 2016

Just dye your hair white blonde and throw on a wind breaker or exercise suit. Maybe throw a medal around your neck. Bam!

Harambe

Because Harambe. RIP friend.

Pokémon

Remember that one game this summer?

"Deadpool"

One of the most popular movies of 2016

Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad

I’ve seen a ton of Suicide Squad cosplays already this year

Happy Halloween! Stay safe out there. I hope you don't run into any CLOWNS!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
