Why Bernie?

Bernie Sanders is important!

Why Bernie?
Bernie Sanders

Growing up, I must admit that I have never been an ardent political enthusiast but lately I have started giving much thought to politics thanks to Bernie Sanders, one of the democratic presidential candidates. Looking back, I must admit that I would never have given much thought to who Bernie Sanders was had he not declared his ambitions to run for the presidency. Given that Hilary Clinton was widely expected to be front runner for the Democratic Party presidential ticket, Bernie Sanders has emerged as a strong challenger. Bernie Sanders has provided members of the Democratic Party an opportunity to weigh his policies and those of Hilary Clinton, therefore allowing them to make informed decisions.

There are several reasons why Bernie Sanders is an important figure for the 2016 election. Whereas many of the republican candidates have this grand idea of "putting us first," Sanders recognizes that the United States is made up of people of all kinds of races and religions. What he stands to do is to take care of everyone who makes up our country and not just those select few groups like Donald Trump is going to back up. Sanders in an unconventional candidate because he is older than typical candidates and is unique in that his views are more like the average voting person. Yes, his age might come as a shock and make some think that he's not capable of all he says he will do but with age comes wisdom and knowledge of past mistakes. He has the abilities to recognize the problems that we are currently facing and to implement solutions that are feasible. He doesn't make promises to the American public that are off base; he means to include everyone and makes that very clear with what we've heard from him thus far.

Bernie Sanders is so important because of the social, economic and political manifesto. The foreign aims are important because they are the key driving force of the socialism policy as well as the need to achieve some sense of democracy, freedom and equality. I personally support the relevancy of Bernie Sanders based on the political influence. He aims at bringing economic equality in the United States as well as maximizing on the interest of the Americans. Furthermore, Bernie Sanders’ version of Democratic socialism does not just mean that we must create a nation of economic and social justice. It also means that we must create a vibrant democracy based on the principle of one person one vote. This is the major reason in which Bernie Sanders could drive the political forces.

I personally believe that his candidacy is the safest bet for those sick and tired with the reckless comments of Donald Trump, who stands a chance to secure the Republican ticket. In a short period of time, Sanders was able to mobilize a huge fortitude of followers and receive contributions that surpassed that of previous popular presidential candidates’ contributions. This demonstrates how hugely he has invoked the American voters to a new level of enthusiasm. He is the person to make America strong again. If he can empower me to have an interest in politics, maybe he can empower the country to have an interest, so the country could be great again.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
